| Someone in Australia is interested in my Boss PS-3. Has any fellow US citizens shipped an FX pedal to OZ before? UPS quoted me $130(without insurance) Would USPS be cheaper? |

USPS is WAY cheaper. I sold a moddemod to spbaker, shipped it priority flat rate using a USPS box (free), it was about $17, and got there quicker than it was supposed to. UPS/FedEx/DHL were all at least 2 or 3 times as expensive. Don't forget to requite a signature, or they may just leave it at the door. I forgot, but luckily it got there fine in about a week.
BTW, Shawn told me they use USPS for shipping international from AH. I think it's the way to go for international. |

there seems to be a size limit for USPS.
Shawn tried to send me a A100P portable case (to Australia), it was too big for the standard stuff and was gonna cost US$250 plus to send.
got it from Doepfer direct for 70 Euro shipping, sent by DHL in less than a week. |

| I think for small / medium sized stuff USPS (or whatever postal service you have) is practically always going to be cheaper - just take the insured option and pay a bit more if the item you send isn't cheap because packages CAN get lost even if they only rarely do. For physically large / heavy stuff, the transport companies will often give a better price, and it'll cost quite a lot in any case. |
