| Has anyone tried the Lovetone Big Cheese or a clone on synths? One of these days I'll build a clone. |

One of my cheapest pedals, but also my favourite: EHX Russian Big Muff Pi. So much smoother and darker...mmm.
Here's good old Andy showing us how it's done:
60 bucks or so? Worth a try man! (although the original poster has likely found his pedal by now haha) |

@Suburban Bather
That is absolutely the store I am referring to! They're not the cheapest pedals nor the prettiest to look at but fuck do they rip! PM with any questions.
Sorry for the delayed response! _________________ http://trashaudio.com

| Devi Ever Aenima. It's sort of a one-trick pony, but damn, it's one hell of a trick. Extremely high-gain fuzz that, almost paradoxically, takes chords extremely well. Mine is really noisy, though. I'm not sure if all of them are, or if I just got a bad one. |

Afaik, that's more of an overdrive. Overdrive pedals basically do two things, distort the signal internally, and produce a hotter output to produce distortion in the amp. If you aren't using an amp, or are using the output of a synth which is already hotter than a guitar, overdrive pedals generally don't have the same effect. |

| I spent a good hour trying various pedals on synths, and by far my favorites were the Dwarfcraft Devices Great Destroyer and Shiva; the starve functions work really well on synth. The Mastotron worked better than the fuzz factory, and the Devi Ever stuff was all great, but lacked the tweakability of the Dwarftcraft stuff. |

get a few different ones if you can, they all sound different and collecting them is fun. voodoo labs, fulltone, z-vex are a few of many established brand names... there are probably hundreds of small manufacturers
another think you might want to look into is using a re-amp DI between the synth and a fuzz pedal since most fuzz pedals' inputs were designed to accept impedance of guitar output. this can make quite a difference |
