Hello -

Has anybody made an ON/OFF switch for their PSU? I'm using the
Blacet one, and would love to have a switch to turn on/off instead
of plugging in/out. Does anyone make one? can't find info.

thx

Most people end up with several AC powered devices to plug in such as multple power supplies, mixers, outboard effects, etc. It makes more sense to use a socket strip with a switch (and perhaps some surge protection) and simply use that switch to turn everything on/off at once.

FWIW, I use 3 Furman M-8Ls which are rack mounted power strips. They have cool little dimmable lights which pull out and illuminate your rack. They're not super expensive, and allow you to turn on and off multiple power supplies and monitors on one switch. There's a pic on my website if you're interested: http://www.samecoff.com/studio.html

I made my own. I did a 2U Power Panel for the rear of the cabinet which has AC in, AC out, primary fuses, secondary fuses, and an external DC connector. This allows me to daisy chain the AC power to all the cabinets. I use the external power for testing or other peripherals.

I made a 1U Front Panel with an illuminated power switch. I wanted to use the panel for more than power so I added a headphone amp and cable tester. For a smaller cabinet which uses the Blacet PS, I made another power panel with the IEC mains connector, fuse, and illuminated power switch. It is shown on the bottom of the same page.
