I hate these sub forums. I keep forgetting they are here. I only look in eurorack for eurorack stuff.

We need a list of PH Roms available.

I keep missing ROMs

my biggest problem is I seem to spend 12 hours a day here ...I need to either sell my modulars, love synthesis less, love Muffs less or get off my ass out of the studio and see the sun

But if I do that its more stuff to catch up on. I know I should have just stayed with one modular format :-)

Paper Kettle homies offer:
mµtown:
Pocket Monster µP (Serge Creature ROM)
PLL µP (Schumann PLL ROM)
Brainrom
1 µP
downloadable only:
Sonic the Hedgehog set

Yours truly set:

http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30067

there are also some chebyshev's flying around out there, which is also on the wiard list.

Surely there are more in use the people have been bouncing around and definitely a bunch that folks are rolling their own.

Thanks Brandon

I have ordered your ROMs from AH.

Do I have to take out the already inserted extra Harvestman chips to run your ROM's?

Thanks

I only know how to insert them.

You can Do As Thou Wilt with any of those rom slots on the expander with any valid rom, just point them in the correct direction, the little notch is a solid guide. The expander comes with two which occupy the C&D slots, there are 4 remaining empty slots, so you have 6 slots to play with.

I am curious as to why:

"the Scale Quantizer would not work well with the Piston Honda." (as per hylander.com)

Thanks in advance...

Because the Honda's output range (in voltage) differs somewhat from the miniwave, so you don't get a 1v/octave scale unless you very carefully attenuate the output.

Someone should put together a Honda quantizer rom that is calibrated properly -bet people would eat it up.

I've tried to build a quantize rom just for the ph and gotten *pretty* close - but no cigar. Maybe someone (like you jbartee!) else would have success, but the 256 sample distances are just off to tweak up chromatic solidly for the ph at 1v/oct, at least as far as I was able to tell. Best I've come up with is to just apply a smidgen of gain between the ph and the oscillator using the quantize tables on the new.256 rom. Takes a little effort to find the exact gain point where it will work, but it's quite usable once that's found with a .bam or inner channel of maths or whatever.

edit:
And ps, just feeding a slow ramp or triangle into the ph in ext mode turns it into a fantastic cv modulation source.
and pps another method besides a .bam or maths gain is just to apply an offset to the singal in a linear vca...

I saw this link on the SDIY mailing list. 4300 single cycle waves! Could be a great resource for peopel burning their own.

Holy waveform overload, Batman! It's motherfucking bacon yo

I dug around in the files with a hex editor and a checked what I found against a WAV format reference page. The AKWF files are:

-- 600 samples
-- 16 bits (1,200 bytes of audio data per file)
-- nominal 44,100 samples/second.

wave256 format has 256 8-bit samples, so to translate these would require more than just decimation from 16 to 8 bits. I'm looking around for a suitable library to resample these into the right format and package them up properly for testing in the wave256 editor.

Those are some verrrry interesting waveforms! Exxxcellent

Thanks Brandon! Just bought an expander and your set as well as paper kettle's - looking forward to hearing them thumbs up

I hope the new expander doesn't get sidelined with all the new stuff coming out...
