Haha, sorry -- you're the second person that got misdirected by that. It is summed CV/Gate out - single jack for all steps!
Sorry, I was being overly-descriptive and it was probably not necessary!
So yes, normal sequencer it is
And, awesome! I'm glad it will work for you! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask! |

Nice, a compact, simple but very usable sequencer. Looks dead easy and with common parts too, i have all of them, except maybe the pcb mounted pots. Might have to grab a board or two, bit of a baklog at the moment tho (inc your liquid hihat) and a bit skint too.
Hopefully will have some money when its ready |

What is the spacing between pots/switches/leds?
Put me down for two, please. _________________ boothnavy - synthesist

Here are the measurements (centre to centre of course):
Vertically speaking, LED<-19mm->Pot<-18.5mm->Switch
Horizontally speaking, each step is evenly spaced at 20mm apart.
You can pre-order to ensure the project happens here!:
http://igg.me/p/40073?a=227451&i=shlk
We've got $2,375 in funding left to achieve before the run will happen, as I am a student and do not just have $2,800 laying around. I've been trying to decide what will happen if funding is not achieved, and probably what will happen is that I will refund all of the kits and PCB+pot/switch orders, and only have the bare boards made. Everyone would then have to source their own parts (including the specific board mount pots and switches it was laid out for)
Since most people that have contributed are getting full kits, this would be a major bummer -- so if you want to see it happen, consider helping out by pre-contributing any time between now and the funding termination date of October 24th!
I don't normally feel comfortable asking for funds in advance, but in this case it is necessary
Cheers! |

Update: I have successfully re-designed the logic board to be exactly 41mm wide, just like the control board! This means people using MOTM/synthesizers.com formats can place a sympleSEQ vertically in 1U wide panel space!
Beta build #2 will be under-way soon, and then I will have some new pictures for all to see, and a video as well |

Since it's been a little quiet, I decided to take some time to create graphical renderings of the new board layouts
This should be the final revision before production, and I will be prototyping it once my parts get here!
Still $2,375 in funding to go! Share the link with people you might think would like to hear about it to help out I have yet to get a response from Getlofi.com :(
I've also submitted to some other blogs which have ran with it, but if anybody else can think of other places, do let me know!

looks good.
any info about the pricing yet?
are you taking orders already?
i would say i am interested in at least 4 sets of PCBs, however, it might depend on the pricing.
BTW can one control PCB drive more than one pot'n'switches boards?
(sorry if this all has been commicated before, alas, i am very short on time today) _________________

Hehe, no worries! -- you did miss some of it, but I'm happy to type it out for you anyway
I had really wanted to make it so that the control board had all of the buffers/output gate logic on it in order to minimize logic board purchases, but unfortunately it would have increased the board dimensions a bit too much for my design without using SMD components. Of course even using simple, large, easy to solder surface mount parts would mean that it would be hard for beginners to assemble (which is one of the main points of this project) -- so that is unacceptable.
Thus, I am selling the PCBs in sets of logic/control board pairs. The set includes the board to board headers, as well as the board mount pots and switches. If you wish to source the switches and pots yourself, I also sell the boards with just the headers you need included. ALL sets also include the proper hardware to mount the board to the panel, as I can order it in large quantity and save everyone some cash. I am working on getting rid of all of the hardware in order to save time and money (trying to source the right type of switches to do that at the moment.) -- either way, whatever changes are made will not mean any cost increase.
Due to the cost of the minimums to get the quantity discounts I would like, the project funding goal is $2,800 to get it all made. I am a student, so there is no way I can come up with that all on my own. I will be putting as much as I can into it, but this has led me to seek everyone's help in the matter -- I am taking pre-orders through the secure site Indiegogo.com -- they can process credit cards, or PayPal. All of the prices are listed there! If you need me to make a bundle-deal for a specific order type that you don't see there on the right yet, let me know and I will add one on there quickly for you!
Here is the site where you can check it out and to contribute:
http://www.indiegogo.com/sympleSEQ
PS: The funding ends on October 24th. Assuming we reach our goal, that would mean I would start placing orders for the boards (the longest part to acquire) early in order to save time. All of the boards and kits should be ready to ship out at the latest of the end of November, which should mean they will be at everyone's door just in time for some getting cozy over the warm soldering iron for the Holidays |

Paid - I hope more people jump on so you can make this a reality. Have you posted to electro-music.com DIY section? You might also consider the SDIY mailing list. _________________ DIY panels and PCBs for Buchla and Euro format: http://synthpanels.blogspot.de/

Wonderful! Thank you for your contribution!
I am quite sure it will happen, but not without everyone's help!
Ah yes, I actually come from the electro-music forum primarily, so it is posted there -- I did not think of the SDIY list though -- thank you for the suggestion! I will try that. |

Oh! Glad to hear! No rush...gotta feed everyone first of course! haha.
PS: if anybody needs me to make an option on the site for a combination of product types that you wish to order and do not see, feel free to let me know! (for example, you want 3 boards, and there are options for only 2 or 4 at a time) |

I am very pleased to announce that Ben Marshall of Re:Synthesis / bigbluewave.co.uk will be offering custom etched, silk-screened panels for the sympleSEQ!
Details have yet to be determined, but it looks like he is going to be offering a 1U wide MOTM/.com style vertical panel containing one sympleSEQ channel, and also offering fully assembled units! Check out some of his awesome work here!

Cool, that might settle my modular decision once and for all.
About to start making my first and had no idea which format to go with. Did like the idea of 5u rather than tiny cramped things and hence this should be ideal.
Nice. |
