Agreed on both points. I was just listening to that track on YouTube as well. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/analoglsd |

i can still remember hearing her sing for the first time and being shocked by the inhumanity of it ... too loud, too much teeth and no emotional range. she was just screaming at you in full blast basically. that last tour "im a wreck and proud of it" was artistically the most honest thing she ever did. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/lilakmonoke

I can honestly say I havent heard any of her music and I dont want to, but I am guessing she sang "Lets here it for the Boy"? Don't know why that is in my head. My wife doesnt believe me that i dont know her music but I was listening to Nitzer Ebb and Front 242 when I knew of her name. I had no interest in radio pop music and still dont. I am so glad I dont have alot of that stuff drilled into my head.
Shame if she died to drugs
Same with Michael Jackson I had no interest in what he was doing, I dont think of singing and dancing as entertainment. _________________

| I recall being dragged to a couple of her concerts at Wembley Arena back in the 80's by a girl I was smitten with (oh Catherine, where are you now?), and whilst being less than impressed with what I was listening to, I was saddened to see the decline of someone over the years due to the bad choices she made and being allowed to do so by the sycophants around her. What a waste of a life. |

when a celebrity dies it's best to avoid the internet for a few days
doesn't matter if you liked them when alive or not
good time to get some music done _________________ - great job! - |

:-) well put! its not, in her case it was an athletic performance. it should get interesting when her cook publishes his biography. the facts behind michael jacksons drug life could have made it into any horror movie script. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/lilakmonoke

muffs: where making fun of dead people is cool |
Is there a difference? Like if she was alive it'd be cool?
Or dead 10 years? It's either cool to make fun of someone
or not (period). EARTH: Where making fun of alive people
is cool. Don't know about you, but I think being alive and
being "made fun of" would be MORE painful for the person
themselves. If they were sensitive...
And who cares about "cool"? And what is "making fun"?
Like making a statement, is it fun? Is it disrespectful or just
stating the truth? And is there a time limit where one should
avoid the truth out of respect?
I find avoiding the truth and projecting a lie to be more
disrespectful. Who knows, maybe she would too.
Maybe if people had less "respect", they'd have stepped in
and called her out on her behavior and habits instead of
being enablers. |

its neither the drugs nor the addicts, its the "love" of the crowd. its kind of difficult to get your ass out of addiction if you are making 100 mio $$ and two grammy awards at the same time. get it? _________________ http://soundcloud.com/lilakmonoke

Seriously, take a look around. This community isn't GS or KSS.
Maybe a bit more contribution instead of the 1 line snide remarks
that make you feel important for 5 seconds alone in your room.
So go wash your hands, get the white off, and come back and
communicate/contribute.
I consider this a forum of communication amongst friends, not
a PR campaign. _________________

Yeah, that is sad... probably the most moving thing I read today was
hearing of her daughter being restrained by the police from seeing
her mother's body.
Now I'm considering her daughter's age of 19... wow, the majority
of her years with her mother/father must of been troubling.
She was a talented singer, no doubt about it. But I guess I'm not
considering her a saint or even a tragic victim. She had choices,
she had caring friends and money.
She went on TV and clearly in a no-nonsense way had no issues with
her lifestyle. Like, yeah, this is what I do, don't judge me. Take it
for what it is. Ok, I do. No good or bad associated with it, that's
just what happened.
I'm seeing all these quotes from celebrities and singers...
where was this love and respect for her yesterday at 8:00am?
That's my question. _________________

Etiquette lesson: Dancing on someone's grave is unseemly, no matter how much you dislike that person. Somewhere online there is a KKK forum full of people who consider their words communication amongst friends. It doesn't make you less boorish to have your friends with you.
Enjoy your laugh at someone's tragic end. |

Etiquette Lesson:
Don't accuse people you don't know of behavior you find inappropriate.
This is the second time you have tried to define and label my comments.
Who made you judge and jury? You don't know me. It's slander.
Who's laughing?
You are just sitting there assuming based on your own mind/beliefs
with nothing else as a reference point. It's fantasy, one you made up
inside your head. If anyone is guilty, it's you and your imagination.
Like some sick wet dream where you get to label someone else's
behavior for the sole high of feeling superior for a millisecond.
Let me guess, you do this everywhere in your life. Make people wrong
so you can feel right.
wow.
You see some black and white words on a screen, like a Rorschach
test, and all a sudden you are at KKK? That's all you dude. _________________

It is what it is and aint what it aint.
It's a statement.
I like Whitney.
true.
She laid out lines.
true.
She laid it on the line.
true.
Crack is Whack.
true.
No joke.
She went on TV and said the same thing. Was she compensated for
her interview? I don't know. Does it matter?
I don't have positive or negative emotions about it. It's what happened.
She was talented, she earned money, she entertained people, she
did drugs, she died.
I'm not saying it's wrong or right, that's beyond my pay grade. It's just
what happened.
Now, this is my own nonsense fantasy, but I find
A: The people who made fun of her while she was alive exploitative
(see Mad TV)
B: The people who dismissed her while she was alive as a burned -out
has-been AND now are praising her in the moment of her death to
be both exploitative (for the quick positive publicity) AND two-faced.
C: The people who ignore her many issues and try to glorify her talent
(aka record companies and movie studios) now that she is dead are
exploitative, aka whitewashing
D: The people who take her "challenges" or more likely, decisions,
and try to capitalize on them for their own selfish political agenda are
equally exploitative _________________
