Please excuse the sensationalism, but it's true, last week I managed to lose the tread on one of the rear tires of my 4runner, causing me to skid out of control on the 5 freeway at 75 mph. Went skidding across the freeway, over a big curb, through a barbed wire fence, and the car flipped over while rolling into a ditch. I walked away completely unscathed save for some glass cuts on my foot I got while walking away!!!!

Any how, this has inspired some degree of productivity in the ambient department, and so I have managed to complete a series of pieces I have been posting here the last month entitled "Generative Prayer Series."

Here's the latest three that I haven't posted here:
[s]http://soundcloud.com/dcoffset/generative-prayer-3-lifesong[/s]
 [s]http://soundcloud.com/dcoffset/generative-prayer-4[/s]
[s]http://soundcloud.com/dcoffset/generative-prayer-5-tikkun[/s]
and a hard link to the whole set: http://soundcloud.com/dcoffset/sets/generative-prayer-series/

Everything is generative and live with minimal human interaction, usually just to speed up or slow down clock signals.

Oh, and here's a video of the tow guy flipping my car back over:

Glad you survived intact. Such experiences are often great motivators. Ride the lightning my friend.

Damn, that sucks, but good to hear you're fine.

That reminds me I really need to replace a worn tire on my car...the last original tire from when I bought it, the other three, eaten by LA potholes.

have had a few near-death experiences myself, but none involving cars really (near misses, but no massive wipe-outs)

it looks like you lost the front passenger tire.
if you brake even slightly when this happens (typical reaction)
most of the time it will suddenly flip in an suv.

my old suv blew a tire on i-90 in moving cross country and flipped like that.
i had a truck full to the roof of synths in reinforced flight cases.
odd boxy shit like ms-10's.
anyways it created a virtual rollcage and thus,
my gear saved my life once.

no synth was damaged but the flightcases are kinda done.

your life does flash before your eyes, it's pretty awesome.
congrats on making it out to patch again.

thank you all for the kind words! actually the front tire didn't bust til i went over the curb and thru the barbed wire fence. it was a rear tire tread tearing off that caused me to lost control. although after the curb is when i started flipping.

big up to my brotha GOIKES for building such a resilient 6U case-- not a scratch!!! the only piece of gear damaged was my blessed Octatrack with a broken encoder knob. it's still under warranty though, so not a very big deal.
