I just got an Ultralite MK3 Hybrid and very excited to set up Silent Way.

From what I've read... it seems I could, for instance, use a Silent Way LFO and send that signal into a Silent Way CV to Midi module, and route that midi signal pretty much to any other parameter on yet another Silent Way Module... for instance, to have one Silent Way LFO modulate/automate the LFO speed on another Silent Way LFO. That would then go out CV to real analog gear through the MK3.

Am I correct this will work?

If so, this really turns the Silent Way modules into a very open modular system it's self even up until the CV is sent out to my real analog gear.

Will this work? Is there a more direct approach?

There are LFO/Envelope midi plug ins that can do this too, but if I'm right, Silent Way can cover this all.

Thanks smile

I think to modulate Silent way modules between them is no possible(OS please correct if i'm wrong), i've never tried it would be a greate feature though, but if you us Live and Max for Live you have LFOs and envelopes modulators, patches that can modulate anything inside the DAW and of corse you have automation which is almost the same.

It will work as described. It might be a bit fiddly to set up, but it would work. You could use OSC instead of MIDI too.

There's a limit to the rate of modulations you'd be able to get from a system like this though. LFOs should be OK.

Do let us know if you get something interesting working.

Thanks OS. I thought it should work.

I'll post some results when I try this out.

Originally I was working with a G2 Modular so I could patch it's modules and out the midi to real analog gear... but then I found Silent Way, which is sooooo much all the better for this use... esp the resolution.

It could be cool to look at the G2 modular software and see if any of those connection forms would enhance Silent Way stuff... but it does seem this is already possible with some work or even other plug in LFOs/Envs. It could be cool to add a few ENVs and LFOs right in your modules to patch within the module it's self... powerfull...

But as it is... just the sample accurate automation already makes your product blow everything else out of the water for this sort of thing.

Thanks for your amazing products... !

I'll post examples in time.

also... OS.... I'm guessing OSC would be the better choice because of resolution for this?

Yes, and the timing might be better too.
