Damn, that's a wonderful little system!
Could you get a 1x8 step sequencer in there too?

Very cool how you put the LFOs along the bottom.
You're designing the modules mostly for this case. They need to be shallow. Will any of your other modules fit?
I'm thinking of making another 5U portable cabinet, smaller than my 20U ones.

Even those are almost back-breaking. _________________ Richard

The depth of the case 4,7 inches or 12cm.
Most of my modules from my main synth will fit.
Only the Fritz Teezer VCO was to deep.
Have to make a shallow 2u module to fit over the powersupply (Blacet).
I want a uniform look on the modules,
so I think I will design new modules for case.

| If this is for jamming with friends surely an Oakley EFG or similar has to be in there somewhere? |

Love the panel designs. So elegant and user friendly. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/bphenix |

When set up like on the video, it is not stable enough and you need to hold it steady with one hand while patching or unpatching with the other hand.
You could have it lying flat, like a book, but that's not very comfortable either... |
If he angled the sides in a little it would make it somewhat more stable but the best thing he could do would be to use different jacks! With all due respect I don't like the jacks he uses because of the huge insertion / removal force required. It must be at least several times that of a standard Switchcraft.
And while I'm at it, as much as his modules look fantastic all together, they look mostly like MOTM modules instead of Moog etc and it makes me a little unhappy surrounded by the other MU type modules. I often think about having a proper MU panel made (by RE:Synthesis etc) and replacing the jacks with Switchcraft and the knobs with Cosmo. Or I suppose I could see if it would fit behind a 2U MOTM panel and then I could leave the knobs and just replace the jacks . . . . _________________ | My Facebook | My Soundcloud |My Vimeo | My YouTube | My GrooveShark | My Official.FM

Agreed, but still, even with the sides slightly angled and with smoother jacks it will keep tilting at the slightest movement... Just because the base surface is not large enough in regards to the vertical dimension of the thing, and the weight is not enough to secure its stability... It's just not made to be played upright, period.
I also agree with your considerations in regards to the "special" Hordijk module format integration with other brands modules, but that's another story ...

It depends. I'm not sure about the A series but with the B series most of the older designs mounted the PCB perpendicular to the front panel so they are somewhat deep (like a typical MOTM module) But the newer designs pretty much seem to have the PCB mounted parallel to the front panel so they are pretty shallow. _________________ | My Facebook | My Soundcloud |My Vimeo | My YouTube | My GrooveShark | My Official.FM
