Yeah, quite a few of those signs are horrifyingly distracting... A barber pole, since they're usually in strip malls and whatnot anyways, would provide little to no distraction (in my eyes), since you'd be travelling slowly where they would be visible anyways.
Lawmakers are totally stupid. |

The barber pole originated from the barer surgeon. Its roots are held in the medical procedure called bloodletting, which was once thought to strengthen the immune system The pole represents a staff that patients held tightly to make the veins in their arm stand out during the procedure. The bottom end cap represents the basin used to catch the blood. The white bandages that were used to stop the bleeding were hung on the pole to dry. As the wind blew these bandages would become twisted around the pole as they dried, forming a red and white pattern. The blue stripes represents the veins. Up until the 19th century, barbers performed minor surgeries and dentistry  _________________ Heavy Lids |
