I voted function over form smile

Looking forward to the Syntahcon in Euro. Can it be i have seen somewhere a front panel that had a jack for CV Q control? Maybe it was just wishful thinking... as i do not see it on the Moog format one.

Cheers,
Björn

I like the look as is. I also enjoy a rack full of variety in colour. The ADDAC's, cwejmans etc. mixed with others.
And just a note to all the OCD, gotta keep the look unified crowd... Unless your modules are all from the same manufacturer, your racks don't look unified. Not at all. Different knobs, different graphics, different shades of silver... That ought to keep a few people up at night.

I prefer silver and the whole Victorian thing isn't to my taste to be honest, but If I wanted the module the current design wouldn't stop me buying it.

I really like the look of the Orgy, but when it arrived, I was a bit surprised. I thought the knobs made it look a bit "cheap" in the flesh. So, keep the steam punk, but maybe change the knobs?

Dam you animal! I won't sleep tonight.

Just like Eskymos have 50 names for white, wigglers will come up with 50 different names for silver.

you kids get off my lawn

To me the issue isn't silver versus black.  I have many silver modules, several black, a bit of red and a bright yellow thing that sticks out in every sense of the word. and i'd like to get me some deep green.
So i'm good with silver or black, its the hot pink and the 70s country rock LP font that turn me off.
Steampunk ? Nah. I'm sorry, everyone has their own taste but from where i'm standing it looks more early 70s hippy than steampunk.
When I ( hopefully soon) buy the Snazzy FX Ardcore, i'll probably end up putting gaffer tape over the front, since Carnaby Street is not what I necessarily want to be reminded of when I work on the modular. I mignt be tempted to do the same with this too if I ever got one ...

Once again, no offence intended, people have widely varying taste, and obviously some people love it ( and even Snazzy) but you did ask so ...

yeah I file it under the same hmmm..... anglophile, celtophile thing like Wiard... why those styles ever made it ever made it big in 70s california and didn't die with Bilbo Baggins is a mystery to me hihi

maybe all the british module makers should start using lame american fonts like copperplate razz

Sounds like you need a Low-Gain SubMix7!

-> caustic
heh, that wasn't the exact shade of green i was thinking of ;-)
no disrespect intended to mister low gain, whose extremely useful short bus adds a rather fetching shade of slightly orange tinted yellow that very nicely complements the somewhat brash metasonix livery.

-> monobass
there is no accounting for taste, and for reasons that I cannot in any way justify, the MO font really turns me off, wheras the whole Wiard thing, though I wouldn't defend it, really dosn't bother me. Of course it isn't at all the same font or the same aesthetic, but maybe the main reason is that when I started getting interested in Eurorack, those modules already made up quite an important part of the scene, and that aesthetic just seemed part of the 'broad church' that i was starting to realise was the true religion ;-

My 'core' has quickly become intellijel based (right now its ahead of the makenoise, but makenoise might gain back its previously equal footing if I decide to try a DPO and echophon) so I generally like things to at least look like they belong next to those - the silver panels alone really make everything match, then you can do whatever you want on them (like the PEG! I love that look)

I like black, what I don't really dig is the design around the knobs. Those little petals, and the pink flesh color. The design reminds me of something old, add the word orgy and pink to it and doesn't make me want to touch it.

But then again I'm weird cause I would dig dark brown panel lol

Welcome to the World of Euro - where people are half color-blind and will complain about any deviation away from 'silver with black text.'
very frustrating

Looks like pink to me.
But then again the 'black' looks green, so maybe if I saw it in the flesh, sorry, in the copper, then that would be different.

But there is still the horrible font, the girly lace motifs and the general 70s hippy design. Sorry, but to me it really does look kind of embarassing.

i think it's just the way the pic looks. perhaps poor color representation via whatever RGB/CMYK etc sometimes the colors don't look the same as in real life.

it looks pink but if you look at it closer you can see how it's copper.

Not pink at all in person. Definitely coppery in color.

then SSL should probably change their promotional material in which it looks to be green, pink and pink.

Is the font Helvetica on the actual module ?

... just kidding

and it does look to be a great module, no-one seems to be denying that ...
