My Malekko-only companion system is coming together quickly!
I am wondering though, is there any reason why i might want two JAGs in a 12U system? _________________

The Jag can be an interesting "application based" module. The exciting thing about euro is that you are not so locked in to the module designers intention, so the user is able to be creative a out building a synth that fits their specific needs and conceptualizations. I have one jag now that I use in a 21U system. I have been thinking a lot lately about smaller more "application based" systems, and one I envision is a system built to control audio routing in a multi-channel live environment. This system would have two jags, two joysticks, 12 vca's, and two audio interfaces. The system would be used to route pre-recorded audio between 12 speakers.
So, to answer your question, yes, I think euro allows for many creative configurations, including one with 2 jags, depending on what you want to do. In this way, it is a much more "open" format than some others. |

One for clocks/gates/rhythms
one for CV/wiggles/modulation
I don't have two yet, but that is my reason for planning on getting the second.
Also it would be really cool to use one for CV
and use the other with a joystick. _________________ |zerosuminertia.com| |

After many experiments with the JAG, I have come to realize that multiple JAGs is definitely the way to go. Hell, multiple Malekko modules of anything seems like a good idea - dual Noiserings is just complete destruction with an awesome-stick. _________________

Don't forget a Fade or even 2, they work great as VCAs when not fading!! _________________ "What a waste of thumbs that are opposable,

Oh, don't worry. My plans include at least 12U of just Malekko. That is only about 6U. I got lots more in mind. _________________

Yeah, the JAG is great fun! I've been trying lots of things like putting envelators, various noisering outs, and unkle LFOs through the Xs and Ys of the JAG, then put all the CV outs on the JAG into filter key ins, 1V/octs, etc...
The more I play with the JAG, the more I want another one.
It's like a cross between a buffered matrix multiple and an EG in a weird (wiard!) way. _________________

I have a 6U system:
2 Antis
2 Unkles
3 Envelators
1 Borg 1
1 Borg 2
1 Boogie
1 Noisering
1 VCA
1 8NU8R
1 Output
1 Wogglebug
1 Intellijel Buff Mult
It's in a 9U case, so I still have 3U, which are currently occupied by a FR Mobius) but will eventually house more Malekko/Wiard: Cybernetics, JAG, Megawave, Anti-Envelope, Xmix and Q-ASR.
I'm saving for a new car, though. That means no module purchases in the next 12-18 months. _________________ My music website | My modular blog |

I keep thinking 2 of everything is the way to go (well, more than that for Envelators and i'd probably just stay with the 1 Switch and 1 Output).
With all the proposed Walekko stuff that hopefully all comes to be *please, please, please...*, that will fill up a 12U nicely. _________________

Well, 2 of each filter might be a little overkill... _________________
