| My A199 spring reverb arrived today from SchneidersBuero (my first order with SB totally painless... got here as fast as ordering from Analogue Haven!). Anyway, I was planning on installing the springs in the deep recesses of a Monorocket Base 90, but was surprised to discover that the A199 is (barely) skiff friendly. I've started an effects skiff, and thought it'd be cool to skiff the A199 and leave the tank outside my case. This would keep the springs extra-far from any power supplies, which should reduce noise... and with the springs exposed, it will be possible to play them a la Ekdahl Moisturizer. Provided that my fingers (or playing utensils) are clean, and that I don't engage in spring bashing... is there anything wrong with doing this? Is it going to royally screw up the tank? |

No worries there, I have the Moisturizer sitting next to the standard Doepfer tank and they work great together. They both get a lot of fiddling - for lack of a girlfriend Double spring mayhem! _________________ http://soundcloud.com/bodo

| Nothing wrong with smacking the spring tank now and then. Unleash your inner Lee 'Scratch' Perry! |

I do it all the time.
Beware: if the springs fall off (which happenend to me during transport), Doepfer can and will not repair the tank. You'll have to get a new one. _________________ New album: "As Sparks Fly Upward" |

| Thanks for your feedback everyone... I can't wait to get this module up and running. Once my case gets here, I'll post some demos! |

I bought a spare spring tank for exactly this reason - it appears in this vid @1.16 for a sound library i made last year - i scraped it, stretched it & hit it with small drum sticks & it held together ok!
