quick question about the TL084 - shouldn't we just use a TL074 cos they're better noise spec?

I mean, I doubt it makes much difference but is the TL084 spec'd from an historical point of view or because it has better dc offset spec?

Very little difference between the two in this application-use whichever you can get.

Also, are people socketing their vactrols like doepfer do with their LPG?

I wondered if this might make a lot of sense when trying to match them (if you can be bothered)

Thought I might just chop up a DIL socket or similar

Ya get yourself a bunch of "sticks". I socket all sorts of thIngs. Transistors and sometimes caps.

I am planning on using some roll your vacs as well.
