i haven't read the entire thread, if it has been mentioned before... sorry.

It seems the new SW version will no longer support PPC Macs waah Is this correct? Or is it the beta only?

Correct, SW2 is Intel only.

PostPosted: Fri Aug 03, 2012 9:58 pm    Post subject: SMUX not working in beta5? Reply with quote Add User to Ignore List

I have tried SMUX, using a little demo setup in Logic that worked fine with 1.7.3.
(RME Fireface, ES-3/ES-5 on ES-3(7,8), V2 beta5)
Setup:

SMUX in Bus 10 Aux -> ES-3 outs A (RME 17-18)
Bus 11 to SMUX side channel (no output)
SMUX in Bus 12 Aux -> ES-3 outs B (RME 19-20)
Bus 13 to SMUX side channel (no out)

LFO in Instrument channel to Bus 10
LFO in Instrument channel to Bus 11

and tried:
Sync to Bus 13, set to 'ES-4 mode', Gates 1/[1-8]
Tried Sync as Instrument and Insert
ES-4 controller to Bus 13
ES-5 controller to Bus 13

Using LFO as test, the main input to SMUX is replicated on the second pair of ES-3 channels, so LFO A -> 1,3, LFO B to 2,4. The side channel input to SMUX afaik goes to /dev/null, not to the ES-3. If I remove SMUX, i see
LFO A -> 1,2 LFO B -> 3,4 so that bit at least works smile

Using Sync, ES-4 controller, ES-5 controller, (tried various combinations and one at a time) there is no output at all from the SMUX. There is output on the channel, but nothing on the Aux bus where the SMUX is and nothing past that. of course no output from ES-3/ES-5

Is there some change in SMUX setup with V2? As i mentioned, this is a little demo thing I did to test my ES-5 when new, works with SW 1.7.3 fine, checked it before testing V2, and after I reverted back to V1.

Very excited for the Silent Way Follower (evelope follower/pitch tracker). I'll be playing modular synth patches with my trumpet soon. Maybe I'll add a bunch of cosmetic wires and electronic parts to the trumpet to make it look more sci-fi.

Just now tried getting SMUX to work with Numerology (on 10.8) and ES3. Haven't tried it before. The second stereo input was ignored and the first was repeated so that output 1 is repeated at 3, and 2 at 4.

Hello!
I'd like to purchase a license for version 2.0 after the discount code. I bought Silent way version 1x in the last 2 months.

Thanks in advance!

As far as I can see SW SMUX is working fine.

@cliffman, were you actually running at 88.1/96kHz for that test?

PostPosted: Mon Aug 06, 2012 6:34 am    Post subject: how can i purchase my upgrade to v2.0 silent way? Reply with quote Add User to Ignore List

Sorry to bother you with this stupidity.
I ve spend an hour searching on the exp sleepers site to find the way to get a license for Silent way V2.0.
I own v1. So I want to get rid of the demo in beta 5. already using it fully.
Where can I find the option to the upgrade purchase?
The license manager does not show an upgrade is available......
any help very much appreciated.

You need the new Licence Manager 1.0.18. Download link at the top of this thread, with the beta 5 download links.

Yes, i was. I can send you the Logic song if need be. I spent several days on this. As i said, this is a song that works just fine with SW 1.7.3, so I am puzzled if the setup method changed, or something, I am using SMUX as an Insert in an Aux bus in Logic.

Okay, not sure how to send to you directly, so I have attached it to this.

Quite right, it was borked in Logic (working fine in Live, which is where I was testing it). Fixed now for the next beta.

Thanks for the song.

Beta 6 is out.

Changes in beta 6:

- fixed Logic AU validation of 64 bit SW Quantizer and SW Soundplane

- fixed sending of OSC (from SW Learner and CV To OSC) in 64 bit

- implemented OSC path copy to clipboard (in Learner UI) in Windows

- plug-in UIDs are now stored with the song file (so OSC paths remain consistent after a save/load)

- SW SMUX wasn't working in Logic, now fixed

- SW Soundplane now saves its calibration with the song

- SW Learner now stores its outgoing OSC path and the MIDI controller mappings

As far as I'm concerned SW2 is now feature complete, and I don't plan on another beta, unless something drastic turns up in testing.

So now I have to write the user manual. not this shit again

I vote REAPER method... let a dedicated user create your manual. we're not worthy

Any other methods out there?

There's a draft of the v2 user manual here. If anyone fancies giving it a read I'd be grateful for any feedback, even just pointing out typos.
