Just wondering?
I'm on the fence again, regarding another oscillator (i'm determined to pick just one for now). I have an HD and a Piston Honda is coming.
I was pretty set on an Anti-Oscillator but i (finally) realized that the Bubblesound makes a great oscillator as well as an LFO.
Any thoughts/opinions? |

so far my favorite thing to do with the ulfo is FM. the way it goes audiorate to wub-wub-wub to wwwoooooooooooooooowwwwww. as for pure vco duties that sine shape sounds very sweet and worthy of all the praise it has so far received.
lots of hype about this one. but the hoopla i have read seems to hold up. fudging awesome module. |

Sadly I use it mostly as a clock so far. It makes very pleasant sounds at audio rate, but while the 3000 Hz ceiling is probably fine if you're just doing basslines or FMing things with it at low frequencies, it gets a little irritating hearing that top-out note all the time in other contexts.
It's a really well built and generally awesome LFO, and things can get really weird with the sine shaping and PWM, but it definitely has its limits.
Maybe think about a TipTop too...I sent mine back because I wanted another AO worse, but it does fine at LFO rates, has good PWM and sync (as well as the rather unusual and sexy-sounding "hard sync modulation"), and is a really nicely built general-purpose oscillator, if you're looking for that rather than the esoteric shit. Personally, I'm shooting for all esoteric shit plus the Doepfer utility modules to fully empower it. _________________ soundcloud | y00t00bs | coffee |

Does anyone know anything about the wrVCO yet? Judging by the pictures, it seems really similar to the uLFO, but for some reason it's more hp. I'm also not sure whether the mockup is mislabeled or if it will have "Saw Mod" instead of "Sine Mod". And if it does, why? _________________ http://www.squidinsquidink.com

Thanks for the infos! I'm mostly looking for a more normalish oscillator as i think i've got the more varied end pretty covered with the HD and PH.
In truth, i will probably be mostly using it for FM as well.
I have considered the tip top too. Still thinking about another HD. I guess i should just wait until i can't resist buying something... |

summertime would be a good guess.
it'll have 2 or 3 new outputs and another CV in. the CV and extra knobs are for the pulsed saw/ramp outs. and there are a couple of switches to change the input waves for the saw/ramp shaper.
i'll be posting some demos of the pulsed saw in the not too distant future. i'll make sure i post link here. _________________ i've tried nothing and i'm all out of ideas... |

I'm really into the uLFO as an oscillator. I haven't found any problem with the upper limits. My only 2 Euro oscillators are that and a Z3000. But I also have the 3 from my 2600. _________________ http://pearlartsstudios.com/tsr/

Thanks!
For the time being i decided to go with a cloud generator as my third osc.
Still haven't ruled out the bubblesound LFO at all though, it's probably in my future as a combo LFO/osc. |

I'm using the uLFO as an Osc (two more as LFO's) and it's the first analog osc that sounds as good as my M15. I haven't noticed it not going fast enough probably because I play from low to midrange. The FM to my filters from the others seems fast enough to make them ring. FM to the M15 is simply delicious!
I am going to swap the uLFO for the wrVCO as soon as it comes out. Not using my AFG and having sold my Cwejman VCO-6 I want an osc with an animated saw and I hope the wrVCO does that.
