TTSH VCO Regulator Board

What is this?

A piggy back board for the TTSH project.
It does a sub regulation for the supply of the three VCOs (+ opt. the voltage processor).

This fixes the problem that the TTSH on board supply with the DC/DC converter is too weakly regulated for the extreme high demands of the VCOs, causing pitch variation with varying load currents, most obvious from the clock circuit ("clock bleed").

If you have fitted your TTSH with a linear regulated supply you might not run into this problem and you have no need for this add on.

Only the first run of the TTSH boards (sold December 2013 - delivered until May 2014) needs this
The second run of the TTSH already has a similar solution on board.

STATUS:
- Final boards are tested and OK.
- Boards of the first batch have been delivered and several have been build successful.
- Second batch of boards has been ordered, boards are available

BOM, schematics and build instructions can be found here:

VCO regulator board, mounted with 12mm length M3 spacer.

Price per board is 3 Euro, international shipping 4 Euro (registered letter, takes two to four weeks delivery time).

Thanks for starting a new thread. One for me, please. thumbs up

I'd also like to restate my interest for one of those LED resistor replacement boards when they become available (are they already?)
Nordcore
Yes, I have a couple of them, but you have to chop the little boards yourself from the larger panel.

Update: see here: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=116543&start=0&postd ays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

Never mind my request for the LED PCBs; I don't think I have a good way to cut them myself. Still want three of the regulators though smile

I used a tin snips (similar to one of these https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Left-right-snips.jpg )
And no, it's not much fun, so I would not do that as a service.
Forget about any saw, Dremel ...

It's not possible to V-score? Or do a medium run on OSHPark?

https://oshpark.com/pricing

Edit: quick calculation: for the resistor board it's 3.2 sq inch, minimum order of 150 square inch. So 47 boards are needed to fill the MOQ. Cost would be USD 3.2 per board plus shipping.

There's a size limit at osh park, so no matter what, there will need to be some cutting. When I did mine I had the board outline extend inward at each board. I was able to cut each one with a pair of cutters.

nordcore, could this be a possibility with your boards to make it a bit easier to cut?
