nice!

will there be pcb + panel options, as well?
Monobass
Yep there will be 2 more options coming soon

1) Panel + Euro PCB set

2) Mixer PCB only (i.e. just the back pcb in the photo below)

The Euro front panel PCB has only pots, jacks and LEDs so making up this module in other formats is very straightforward, everything is nicely laid out on the 20 pin header.

1st of all, thanks to monobass for the help to get this off the ground!

it is always a good thing to use sockets. nevertheless, i built several of these little workhorses during the prototyping phase and i got very confident. so i built the last two w/o the receptable on the font panel PCB and connected the two PCBs directly. this saved me additional 8mm in depth.

BTW i am very excited about this little module. it offer VERY much in 4HP! read the documentation carefully and you will understand what i mean.
Cablebasher
Can this act as a CV mixer or just audio. Looks great either way.
Monobass
CV or audio thumbs up
Raytracer
Looks great. I'll buy a couple of these.
LoFi Junglist
Time to sell all my At-At-At panels hihi
Monobass
heh smile Actually I'm redoing the AT-AT-AT as a PCB project with Thonkiconn jacks and jumpers to add a tapering resistor for log style response.. and because I'll be stocking Alpha Pots directly I should be able to make it all cheaper too.
Rumblin_Cynth_Rampo
Looks like my build pile is going to get longer again. Going to have at least one of these if not more.
Stinktier86
I've got a bunch of fonik's chicklets (and panels) in my drawer. they are basically identical, by the look of it, ie. i could arrange them in a cascaded fashion aswell, right?
ronski
What kind of pods did you use for this project?
Alps? BI electronics?

Wanna order parts for this, would be very helpful to know smile

Any B100k 9mm pot with similar footprint to the green Alpha 9mm should be fine - http://www.taydaelectronics.com/datasheets/A-1847.pdf

Now on sale - http://www.thonk.co.uk/shop/cascade/

Build docs will be ready in about one week from now.

This is a great little module - my CV Tools (now out of production) used the cascade mixing architecture to great effect - it gives max versatilty so good luck with this @fonik and @monobass - in 4HP it will be a winner!
apoisontree
Hi Monobass,

do you know when you will be able to sell a PCB and panel set on thonk?
Thanks.
Monobass
Please note there is a minor difference in the parts included compared to the photos.

The photos show a right angled male (pin) header and straight female (socket) header.
In the kits I provide a right angled female (socket) header and straight male (pin) header

One thing to note, to make the module with the smallest footprint solder the right angled female header to the rear of the Mixer PBC as shown below.

Just ordered one.. - excellent work!! applause
