Author euro diode super ladder??? we are all waiting so bad....
Mr White
some time ago I've heard from synthbuilder of that baby for euro,
every time I see that youtube video I have to change my pants... oops
any news about that?

+1

A fantastic filter

For those who have yet to hear it.

The schematic is sorted - the problem is trying to squeeze it onto a board that fits behind a 3U panel that is not too wide. We've got a nice panel design - thanks Paul - my job is to try and fit the circuit boards behind without going to surface mount components.

I'm laying out the 5U VC-LFO at the moment but once this is done, then the work on the Superladder begins proper.

No dates on when it will be complete, but I have April booked for more 5U work.

Nice one Tony

I think most diyers can handle a bit of SMD, like caps and resistors at least. That might help?
Mr White
what about good old point to point wiring? maybe too hand time consuming...
or breaking pcb using a ribbon connector would cut its dimension, (maybe would need a circuitry redesign that way..)
mmm.. wtf, I think you dont need these kind of suggestion at all! oops

of course we need the all possible oprions packed in, like that in the video, no problem if it will mean wide ass baby!

it's useless to say that this superladder is an AWESOME filter, eurorack world is full of people that will want badly that filter!
keep up this good work dude...
Waldschwammerl
I would also love to play this filter!
That youtube video is so nice, even the badly recorded voice is lovely.

I just saw this video of the diode super ladder ,wow!

Did this filter ever make it to eurorack format?
Is there a euro diy version available someplace?

Nope.

This year was pretty much spent finishing off the updating of the whole of the 5U series. I'm nearly done.

Behind the scenes there has been a bit of research into the viability of getting into the Eurorack market. It seems that the only way I can make any decent money is in the ready made sector. That means a proper production run of boards and panels and getting someone else to sell it for me. I don't believe I can make enough money in DIY euro.

I have the form factor of the panels, pots, sockets and boards sorted. Now I was hugely tempted to follow a Bugbrand format (banana stylee) but the Doepfer standard seems to be the way to go.

The first module will not be the DSL but something different.

Thank you for the information concerning the state of the eurorack DSL.
I am excited to hear that you are planning on releasing eurorack modules.

thumbs up

I keep it no secret that I love that 1pole demo on that video. love

I love it so much I have asked negativspace to build me one. I think he is looking for a V3 board for me........I hope he is?

The voice reminds me of Starcraft. One of my all-time-favorite games.

Sounds great, but I already have so much filters. hmmm.....

Mr Wavehead will be stoked to hear this. He was over here drooling at the variable slope on my TLF...I'll bet SDF and the Oakley Oscillator could do real well in euro format
ThinLazy
Still want eurorack DSL screaming goo yo screaming goo yo screaming goo yo
usw
The perspective of an eurorack version of the DSL deserves more than an annual bump !

Seconded!
jules
It fits in 3U if you use a proper case (with some depth).
And it's an absolute killer of a filter.

jules
Did you build that??

Looks amazing! BTW how deep is that?
jules
Yep and it's worth it. Plus there's absolutely nothing complicated about it.
The PCB is a pleasure to solder on. The best type I've come across so far.
The board is 14.3cm, so the module is around 16/17cm in depth.
Mind that I run that on +/-15V, though I wonder if +/-12V would cause any problem.

EDIT: I new I had another pic somewhere.

Wow, thats so cool! I'm a nut for diode filters, and this one has some irrefutable special characteristics. I know that there has been talk of an official conversion to euro by oakley, but I may have to just figure out how to follow suite and just do a converted DIY Euro one too. Thanks for the inspiration, I may just be hitting you up with a PM soon. smile
