Author Module Current Draw Database
Muff Wiggler
Been wanting to do this for a long time, here's a small start anyway, I'll add more later.

Ideally I'd like to have every module in this list, even if we don't know how much current it draws.

If you have one you would like to add, or know the draw of a module, make a seperate post with only the name of the module and the amount of current. Put your comments in other posts. This is because I will add the info to the main list here in this first post, then delete your posts. It'll keep the thread tidy and allow us to keep your comments that way.

If you know the values of any of the ones with '???' please post and let me know, thanks.

This is just a rough start, I will clean up the above further, plus add more sometime soon.
Current draw for all Modcan modules can be found on the price list, which is at the bottom of the module list.
although many modules draw similar current on each rail, there are some that are rather asymmetrical--i think the time machine is a good example.

yep, i always simply take the larger of the two numbers
great, this is very helpful!
Muff Wiggler
just did a little cleanup on this thread, thanks everyone for your submissions, and please keep them coming!! I've added them all to the list (haven't gotten to Modcan yet)

Glad you guys find this helpful. I think it's really handy to have it all in one place. In upcoming days I will make the list better, alphabatizing each section, etc., and I'll do some surfing to gather some more values, etc.

thanks everyone
yet another reason why this board is dominating the internet in 2008 plus.

All you have to do is stay under mA on both + and - sides, right?
Yeah. I guess no one lists the neg because it is always smaller than the pos.
in some modules it's greater, e.g. the synthasonic phaser.
I keep a spreadsheet on my site of measured power requirements. I just added some of the latest Jurgen Haible, Natural Rhythm, and Neil Johnson designs to the file. Website

i'll post more values as i get more modules measured. i need to build them first, though.
i'm reading +18 mA and -19 mA on the wavefolder right now. that's on 15 volt rails.

the Sea Devils Filter is +33 mA and -29 mA on 15 volt rails. probably because its using voltage regulators.
