SVCO pulsewidth disapearing (sorry for all the questions)

Post by Paradigm X » Fri Oct 30, 2015 6:18 am

Apologies for all these questions.... im new at all this...

Just a quick one, i bought a krisp1 svco on ebay, which seems to work fine, but at some settings of pulsewidth and/or PWM with an envelope, the sound completely disappears. Is this supposed to happen?

im sure i read about this a while back, have searched here and the manuals for the svco but cant seem to find.

if the pulsewidth hits 0% or 100%, this could cause this 'issue'?

Many thanks.

You are absolutely correct!
This "issue" is noticeable since there is no such thing as a 100% or 0% pulse wave since that is not a wave. Actually, in my opinion, PWM should always allow for this and many VCO designs have it. It can be used for neat tricks such as shutting off an oscillator used as a gate source or shutting off a square wave sound without using a VCA.
