| br>I don't think there were a English and Japanese Tenori-On except for the power supply transformer being 100V for Japanese and 110V for the USA. There is no way to change languages on the unit itself. I am sure they followed the standard Japanese electronics practice of doing menus and graphics in English. You can't typically find the major Roland and Yamaha synths with Japanese text or menus either.
As fishyswaz points out, if the Japanese owners manual shows English menus and text on the display, that is the clincher.
Here is the graphic from the "Rename a song" section of the Japanese manual and you can see the characters to choose from are all English fonts.
