Futher My Knowledge of Past & Present Video Synthesis?

Hey there, thanks for popping into this thread.

Short and sweet request here, just looking to find some of your favorite sources for video synthesis art, information, and news, past and present. I'm getting the itch and want to learn a bit about the history, seminal works, current trends, what people are into, etc. Less interested in how-to's and device lists, more interested in the state of the scene and how you all stay connected to the goings-on.

For me, that'll be this subforum. Mr. Green

Check out video circuits blog and the associated facebook group. One of the best resources for overview and in depth jumping off point for study.

If you can find a copy, this dvd box set is like the video synthesis bible: http://experimentaltvcenter.org/etc-dvd

I'd +1 recommend the VC blog and fb group, this forum and the ETC box set. Also, at risk of being terribly 20th century i'd recommend the following books by Woody Vasulka+:

Eigenwelt (which is available in pdf on the Vasulka archive)
http://www.vasulka.org/archive/eigenwelt/pdf/p001-009.pdf

and

Buffalo Heads

This is perfect, too, thank you. thumbs up These books need a reprint.

Honestly the facebook groups are MUCH more active than this subforum so I'd definitely check those out (both video circuits and lzx users in particular)
