Had this idea the other night, wondering if anyone else already tried this. Couldn't this cheap oscilloscope kit be converted over to a cool waveform module? Showing a visual representation of what ever sound is running through it. $20-$35 USD on ebay.

Yeah, works.
Of course by far not as good as a 400$ device, but good enough to measure some voltages and to have something nice to look at.

There are quite a few threads on it, there's a few that have it mounted as a module.

I just put it in the acrylic case thing, it's OK but the voltage measurement is pretty wonky on mine (was reporting 23v pp the other day off an at best +/-5v sine wave). the frequency counter seems pretty accurate though. For the price it's a nice bit of fun.
