How to remove Disting mk4 encoder knobs?

Author How to remove Disting mk4 encoder knobs?
Mr. Roboto
I already asked this question in another forum/thread but without success so far. So hopefully this the right place to get an answer.

I want to change the panel of my new Disting mk4. Therefore I have to remove the encoder knobs. I tried it a lot of times with a lot of force but with no chance.

So, is there any special procedure to do this?
os
Just pull, or lever them off with e.g. a flat head screwdriver.
Mr. Roboto
Hmm, tried that but without any chance. O.K., will try it again but this time with ultimate force.
Mr. Roboto
Thanks, a screwdriveras a lever, a lot of force and some bravery helped. Normally I neither I had a problem removing knobs but this time I was a little bit too carefull due to the pushbuttons.

Anyway, the nuts on the jacks, are they imperial size, not metric?
os
I believe they're 10.5mm. To this day, I've never found a 10.5mm socket wrench.
Mr. Roboto
very frustrating
Thanks. What a pity.

I used this one:

worked fine and avoided scratches on the panel because it's plastic.

Worked perfect for me.

use string or a ribbon to pull from the bottom of the knob without stressing the shaft

How do I use a string for that?
