Not by a simple mod, no. You would have to redesign it.

Yeah it would require each cross fader to be a VCA. There are modules that do this but not possible to mod this one unfortunately.

Those are special centre-tapped pots. They're even harder to simulate with VCAs than the regular kind. You'd need three VCAs per channel and some clever control scheme that takes into account the different operating modes based on what is plugged in to which of the inputs. (Props for the A-138e, though! It's one of my favourite modules, even if it does have to be manual only.)
