Yea, Pungent Stench are great, and how can you go wrong with their album covers!

How about Obituary! "Slowly We Rot" is one of my all time favorites.

I'm also a huge fan of early Entombed and Autopsy.

Not death Metal, but everything Bolt Thrower has ever done is amazing.

Dead Banana BOOM! Cthulhu hihi SlayerBadger!

Slowly We Rot
Entombed
Autopsy
BOLT THROWER!!!!!!

my boy from way back is the lead singer of MALIGNANCY. not exactly my cup of tea ever - but they are fucking kick ass at what they do.

I love classic PS, but I always dug this track. it's just so....groovy

and to add:

IMMOLATION!

eh, call me impartial because the NYDM scene was my first home.

f'ck! small world I used to drive their guitarist now bassist to band practice!

I just started getting into industrial around this time and dropped out of the scene, stopped trying to play in bands etc.

Diabolos Rising, MZ412, Godflesh and Dead World kinda pushed me into thinking I didn't need a full band anymore. Plus considering where I lived at the time, drummers were practically nonexistant, or they played in 3-4 other bands.
Cybananna
I have to add The Ravenous because Danny Lilker in in that band and he's great. ...and Brutal Truth and Exit 13 aren't really death metal...

sorry folks, video quality sucks, just listen I guess.

2 guys and a drum machine.

more Dead World here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WAa7fSZpJ8

i would love to do something like this, or disembowelment.
Suburban Bather
Man, fucking dipshit Spencer(from high school) stole my "For God Your Soul, For Me Your Your Flesh" cd.

Fuck yea! I got turned onto death metal via Obituary. Slowly We Rot, Cause of Death, and World Demise are must have albums!!!!!!! IMHO, The End Complete is boring as hell. I still rock this T-Shirt(the front is a close up of the tree, the back is a close up the person wrapped in spider webs, and the "Obituary" font is the silver and rusted gold color)
Suburban Bather
I love Exit-13! Ive heard a little bit of Brutal Truth, which I dig!(Those two bands are total grindcore, not death metal)

Dead World! SlayerBadger! I wish that I had an actual appreciation for dark ambient/noise at the time that I bought the Traces of Death III soundtrack. Sinister soundscapes! twisted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1TkNygnZgY&feature=related

Bill and Steve from Exit-13 have some pretty cool noise albums- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHByGDrSLJ4&feature=PlayList&p=8D330D4F B3C253B2&playnext_from=PL&index=0&playnext=1

if you can find it there was a relapse compilation called UHF/VHF 2xCD. There was a lot of crossover at the time between death metal and electronic music/noise. I discovered one my all time favorite noise artists through relapse: Atrax Morgue.

this was I think members of brutal truth/exit 13/and napalm death
malformed earthborn

at the time I was still a little too "metal" to appreciate a lot of it.

later on I would spin this track in the goth/industrial clubs and people would kinda freak out. kinda like spinning gabber, people would get all amped up, but not really know what to do.

Fuck! I recognize the name, but I never checked it out. Thanks for refreshing me on that one! I practically lived off of the Relapes mail order catalogs hihi Every week, I would buy 5 or 6 cd's and blow the rest of my check on bud. I also remember getting a copy of this in black and white news paper print every month- http://www.thegrimoire.com/666/

i always felt Left Hand Path was the perfect death metal track, it just seems to have a bit of everything in it.

Yea, he would always do interviews shakespearian style and sometimes it would piss off whoever he was interviewing lol

Autopsy SlayerBadger!

I got into Autopsy from checking Abscess out-
Cybananna
Dead world are great. I forgot about them. I'll have to pull out those CDs.

ha, I got into Abscess from Autopsy.

Yea, I like grind more than death metal. I'm not sure which I got into first though.

Far as I know I have all the Namanax albums. So much of the Relapse Release stuff was so good. I also used to spend hours looking through the relapse catalogs. There was always so much more I wanted than I could buy. A lot like modulars...

Malformed Earthborn. I remember the name but I somehow missed them. I'm going to have to find some stuff by them.

Godflesh isn't DM either, but Malformed Earthborn made me think of how much I like them.
Suburban Bather
I went from death metal to grindcore. I really like both styles just as much though as long as its the older stuff though. I'm having a really hard time getting into the current output sad banana

I remember being able to pretty much randomly pick albums out of the relapse catalogs and be satisfied with my with selections SlayerBadger!

I fell in love with Godflesh when I started drinking heavily. If you like Godflesh, you must get all three albums from this band-

I have Body of Light and Guttari, i also have an album from one of their side projects. Terminal Sound System, it's pretty minimal idm.
