Author Dual VDO moments

I have been really studying this thing for about 4 months now, and this recent patch really satisfied me.

Click to listen

Dual VDO is being sequenced by a Blacet Binary Zone quantized by the Miniwave.
Blacet Window Comparator is the master clock for everything.

Triangle LFO from MOTM 380 modulates dual VDO's detune,
Vibrato out of MOTM 101 into VDO's exponential FM,
- out from MOTM 800 EG to wave b CV
+ out from same MOTM800 to Y input on ringmod section of 07b
A+B output from Dual VDO to X input on ringmod of 07b

MOTM 800 - output to Mix CV on ringmod of 07b

07b ringmod output to attenuator then to Sequential Circuits "Pro-FX" 525 digital delay.
Cheap Hosa 1/4" cables, razz Cheap Surplus no name 1/8" cables hihi
Cheap no name 1/8" to 1/4" cable adapters lol
Cheap Mackie mixer hihi

Heres the patch:

...it satisfied me too.

Nice work. thumbs up

I'm tempted to add the Dual VDO to my Modcan collection. That and the dual FS. The digital/analog combination is hard to beat. thumbs up

I like it... a lot.

I looked at your patch
description but didn't notice
VCA + Mixer.

Is it a drone with the envelope
trigging the ringmod for the
percussive sound?
zerosum
Thanks for listening applause

Yes it is an Envelope plunking the Ringmod for the percussive sound,
but its not a drone, its a sequence being generated by the Blacet Binary Zone which is then Quantized by the Mini Wave which is fed into the v/o input on the 62b w00t

great patch. I really liked it, especially when it goes doubletime around 3:30 thumbs up
Great use of the Ring Mod. I have a 07B, and the RM has been seriously neglected. Thanks for the inspiration.

Not sure how I missed this the other night.

Very nice!

+1 thumbs up

really cool! my dvdo plus a bunch of others are supposed to be ready within the month! this excites me greatly. don't see too much love for the dvdo. i am hoping it will satisfy my wavetable needs as i have been on the search for both the right wavetable osc and the right delay modules for many moons now. i hope the order arrival reveals the end of the search.

anyway, really cool sounds man!!!!

Before I got the 62b, I looked all over the place to find info and sounds and didn't find much. Now that I have one, I want to try to change that a bit and get some sounds and patches, etc out there.

I use it a lot, but for the most part it gets buried in with other modules sounds, which isn't suitable for showcasing the 62b by itself.
So more stuff coming later w00t

I like sending CV into the waveblend and morphing between two waves better than I like sending CV into wave select CV inputs.
Modulating the wave selection is fun, but its real easy for things to get chaotic and glitchy and carried away.

Another cool thing is that there are some waveforms that resemble noise waveforms,
(I can't remember which ones they are at this moment), when you drop these down to the lowest pitch, let it drone and then send a real slow CV into the expo FM or v/o input, it sounds like the earth is being ripped in half!

Its a deep module, lots to be said, but after all this time I still don't know exactly how to say all that needs to be said about this great module
hihi
dude
i'll be adding my own .02 once mine gets here hyper

I really like my 62B. I think it has a lot of character and flexibility. It compliments my analogue VCOs nicely, and always holds its own in the mix.

great patch!

(if i was asked to recreate it without knowing how you did it, one of the first modules i'd reach for would be a comb filter)
Orbless
I really dig this

WOW I forgot about this thread! oops

Hopefully by the end of the month I will add more sounds.
I love this module, but I still don't use it to its full potential, mostly just make a buncha R2D2 noises since it has all the CV options R2D2

There is a lot to be explored!

I suck at keeping up with this thread d'oh! hihi

Here is my banjo patch! w00t Rockin' Banana!

lol

Modcan 62b being sequenced by Binary Zone inverted out which is quantized by miniwave.
Miniwave bank CV is modulated by Binary Zone.
Machinedrum is master clock.
62b wave blend CV modulated by 07b sample n hold,
62b detune modulated by MOTM 380 LFO,
62b outputs A&B ran into 07b rind mod,
ringmod amount modulated by 61b LFO.

Ringmod out ran into R54,
R54 ran into Blacet Quadmix,
MOTM 800 EG modulating R54 filter frequency,
BananaloSerge VCS modulating Quadmix VCA

Lots of Dual VDO love here. Nice clips.

8_) got more coming, just not sure when hihi
Thanks for the listens and comments!
dude
bring it!

oh here still searching for long lost dvdo b!
modcan4ever
Sheer popularity might eventually be your friend - off the top of my head it has to be top 5 for the number we built!
Now, if it was dual delay in B series, then that would be a different story! Hens teeth (but still not the rarest Modcan module).
Scooter McCrae
Well okay then, I'm pretty darn curious -- what ARE the top 5 Modcan B modules? And which ones are the rarest? And how could I NOT ask this question?!?

Thanks for chiming in with the information you've given already, modcan4ever!
