I'm planning to add modules in eurorack format : some utilities are just non-existent in 5U.

I intent to add
* a clock module : pamela's new workout
* a scope module : mordax data
* a rythm generator : TINRS tuesday
* a synth voice : behringer model D

Do you know some nice modules I don't think of ?

Maybe hmmm.....

Synth Tech E102 Quad Temporal Shifter

Synth Tech E352 CLOUD TERRARIUM VCO

Mutable Instruments Plaits

There are tons of eurorack modules . . . what sort of music/sound do you hope to achieve?

There are literally shit tons of euro modules out there that aren't readily available in 5U/MU. I've got 3 mantis cases to my immediate right that are filled with such modules. All the mutable stuff, good chunks of the Make Noise stuff, etc just have never been translated into 5U format except on a limited basis. As JLR says, I think you just have to make some choices after giving it some thought.

The prices in the secondary’s market are pretty consistent at about 80% retail. You can keep buying/selling used modules. Overtime, yu will just end u p paying shipping costs.

There is a lot less risk (financially) buying used.

Lesser in some ways... moarer in others:

Synthesis Technology E330 Multimode VCO

Got a pair secondhand for $250 in euro-gauge... great stuff at that price.

Had them mounted in some extra CP space for a while... might put them back.

I have three of the 4hp STG modules, too... the additional dotcom power header gives you some options.

that E102 quad temporal shifter was something I was looking for forever and finally found in euro. Ended up buying one row of euro just for it, I like it a lot. It produces some pretty musical patterns easily and is a good starting point for a patch

From my perspective most interesting modules in Euro are digital. Especially for people who have good MU/MOTM system.

My current favorite: MI Marbles and MI Stages. First one: is random module with 2.5 sections. Second one is LFO/AG/ADSR/S&H/STEP and all the things can be combined in one module. In comparison MI and Make Noise I prefer first one mostly because of easy to understand UI (maybe only for me).

Euro has also a lot more complex sequencers that can be under 700 USD

hoping someone ports marbles to 5U when the source code is released.
