The last 2 days I wanted to show something to a friend with a combination of modules and ended up twice in an endless jam. Like always!

Here some snippets.

Shame here only the camera mic worked, so it's not mixed:

From here the audio interface is back-to-life.

I go in every directions with this thing haha.
Things I’d never do with the Serge for instance, or the Buchla.
Fearless!

Interesting to use the STATION input instead of RESET (gate in), as it’s picking the different voltages sent by each note on the BSP and different voltages means it changes also the sample (while releasing the key for instance).

These are great! Have you installed minijack to banana converters in the back of those bug frames? Great idea!
Just listed my beatstep pro for sale as i've never really got on with it and now I don't need it so much Mr. Green like most things I don't enjoy playing though, it sounds great in other peoples' hands, like yours!

I personally use homemade-cables, but here on this standalone case I added trios of 1/4"-3.5mm-banana jacks yes thumbs up
It was fun to use, to send the signal for instance to different destinations (reverb pedal and so on).
Also no need for the person who uses it to worry for grounding if he connects the modules to other gear with 1/4" or minijacks.

I never use the BSP either you know.
I don't know what's "wrong" with this thing. Ergonomy, interface, encoders maybe... I dunno.
A few friends gave up quite fast like we did Chris.
In this configuration with one standalone case the potential is actually not so bad. The possibility to save presets, the amounts of outputs, this kind of things.
I wanted to see how it goes with this case, check the clock sync with Grille, how it feels with the Radio Music and so on.
I was struggling first with the pots/CV setting on the BSP while using it as main sequencer. Seems to be impossible on the fly. At some moments I had the impression it works. Always need to stop the sequencer, set voltage while stopped, then it goes. I won't use it much so it does not really matters, but it's kind of weird to think I should look at a manual to be sure actually.

It definitely lends itself to only controlling 2-4 things at a time quite well, I think the resolution of the encoders is all wrong for setting voltages, so many times I'm sitting there spinning and encoder for 4-5 whole rotations to get the effect I want on a single step, it gets exhausting after a while! Richard who I run the label with is an absolute wizard on the bsp, but using it via midi to control a vermona drm1 yields so much better results - he can 'play' in the sequences on the pads and have the velocity of his playing translate really nicely into dynamic sequences. With the analog outs it's kind of 1 dimensional and takes way too much tweaking to get it to sound interesting, or some other modulation/cv coming from elsewhere. To be honest though as a midi/clock sync/division tool it's still pretty cheap! Just doesn't do what I want it to Mr. Green these videos make me want another radio music.....!

Good stuff!
I too gave up on the BSP - though it looks like quite a good complement for a 'small' setup like this. I only ever used it for drum gates and pitch cv and it was quite good, but didn't click for me (too clever / too many options)
