Low Cost PSU current

Hi,

I´ve built this nice little PSU

http://www.modularsynth.ru/en/diy/low_cost_psu/

which works fine so far. Now I´d like to know how much max. current it could handle on the 3 power rails when I use a 12V AC with 1A.

Can anyone help me to find out?

A little over +250mA for the sum of both positive rails, and -250mA for the negative rail.

The DC current in each rail is roughly about a quarter of the supplied AC (rms) current. Since the latter should not exceed 1A that will give around a maximum load of +/-250mA of DC current.

The +5V rail's current needs to be taken from the same supply that feeds the +12V but with just a 75L05 in there you'd be lucky to get much more than 40mA out of the 5V before the 78L05 got really hot and shuts down.

Thank you!
