I'm looking for the kind of momentary button seen for instance on the Intellijel Plog module (TYPE, SELECT, TRIGGER). Also mounted vertically to the PCB.

If you know a mouser reference, or a name for this kind of very small button this would be great.

The cap needs to be high enough to be placed behind a 3.2mm panel... This I can then check in the datasheet.

Hi,

How about these:

Switch:
https://www.mouser.de/ProductDetail/612-TL1105SP-250

Switch Cap:
https://www.mouser.de/ProductDetail/E-Switch/1RRED?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvGqlub rpfvZRIMg1Cy0rou

You can get the caps Black/White/Grey too, i think. I didn't check the datasheet for total height, but I think you should be fine.

"Tactile switch" is the name I was looking for. Thank you for your help!

Now I need to see if they exist so they can be soldered directly to the PCB, but the distance needs to be as large as the pot between panel and PCB, so it's steadier than with any kind of headers in between.
Not sure this exists. I don't have a Plog anymore to see how it was done. Maybe with an additional tiny PCB raised on pin headers...

Or maybe in this direction. It's a good start. I'll check if this exists in 15mm height.

I'll try this one:

Hi,
Glad I could help!

The Switch/Cap I've linked to actually works fine with 9mm Alpha potentiometers, thonkicon jacks and ~2mm panels.

It's the exact model used on the Mutable Instruments Peaks/Rings for example.

I have some of those switches here, total height is somewhere between 13 and 13.5mm (couldn't find my calipers), so it will probably be a tiny bit too short for a 3.2mm panel.

Again, thanx for the help thumbs up
