alright a longish file only for the patient. i start off with Tune, Tone & Decay FCCW and gradually increase the decay.. each time I do this I'm cycling through Tune and Tone control. Tune adjusts the frequency, Tone cuts out harmonics.
the second half is me just fooling around with the 8008 running through the filthy filter who's frequency is being modulated by the miniwave as an lfo. _________________ Self expression is as essential as breathing

werd. honestly i don't know how you could not get an 8008. i got a couple adsr pcb's right now. probably get a couple more.
the thing that rules about the 8008 or any of the CGS drum modules is no need for EG's, VCA's and Filters with everything on board.
the only thing you'll ever really need is a sequencer and various gates. it's a beautiful thing. of course you can still process like i did with the miniwave.
that's why i can't really see myself getting more than the metalbox/cgs stuff for percussion. the sounds are endless just with those few modules. _________________ Self expression is as essential as breathing

yeah. i won't have to tie up 3 or more modules to get a good sounding kick. i've been making a lot of drum patches lately, but the kick isn't always convincing. i know...clips or stfu right? _________________ www.soundcloud.com/johnnymad

sure why not
anyway, i held off on the 8008 for awhile but i think i proved to myself that i could make some good kicks without it. it's all about efficiency now.
but yeah the previous posts i did are evidence of me finally being able to utilize my modular for proper drums, bass & lead. and i know i could do a lot more fun stuff. truth is i've got four modules unracked right now just to make room for the new ones.
i gotta get another skb. _________________ Self expression is as essential as breathing

The 8008 demo sounds great Kwote.
It definitely goes lower than the CGS Dual Drum.
I wish it was available as a kit. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/decay-generator

you might wanna ask michael if he'd hook that up.
personally i was happy not to build this. although lookin it over it seems like an easy enough build. the led is wired to the board with heatshrink and epoxy'd to the panel. definately something to take note on.
I just don’t feel like building every single module I come across and the 8008 is already pretty cheap. I’m dying to build more after building the MiniWave though. I think next build will be the Binary Zone. Just waiting for the right time to scoop it up. _________________ Self expression is as essential as breathing

hey man, I think that may end up sounding awesome - any chance of hearing that in jus a *slightly* better quality? 64kbps is really messing with the sound a lot - and the sound is what we're after
cheers |
