| 11ish, did you build that controller yourself? If so, where did you source the ribbons (if you don't mind my asking)? |

Technically it should be possible. It would take rewriting a few portions of the firmware to make it work correctly.

My Quantanimator arrived this morning. I just lost an entire afternoon with a stupid grin on my face.
It was said a long time back in this thread, but this thing was made for the OSC-02. That plus Pressure Points = chord heaven.
And then there's the arpeggiation.
Wow. |

Quick question to all you people out there with a Quantimator:
When you're using chord mode, the input voltage gets quantized and then used as the root note of the chord right? What scale are these root notes quantized to? Chromatic? _________________ Lapin |

What is a Prism Scale? (the last one on the list)
I Googled it but only found references to Pokémon. |

"its based on an app that Bret Truchan likes, the guy who helped lay down the firmware for this bad boy. "an homage to soundprism" he says. It's a strange one but very musical" |

I purchased one of these from Terby and it arrived today. I've been playing with it for the last few hours, and can safely say this module is absolutely badass! Plays beautifully with my S1mk2... I don't think I'll be leaving the studio for a while... I think I'll have to leave a note for the missus instructing her to slide some food under the door every now and then |

The whole point of a quantizer is to move 'off' notes to their closest relative western note. i.e. A = 440Hz. If you want micro tones DO NOT use a quantizer. _________________ "Modular synths can take your ego out of the equation – which, in music, is a blessing" - Jeremy Greenspan

I disagree with the DO NOT use a quantizer comment if writing microtonal music. Microtonal music would be great with a programmable quantizer since it would be a lot easier to define that specific scale and recall if for other pieces of music. Doing all that without one is possible sure but it would require a lot of precise tuning if one wanted to stay within a specific scale. At this time though, I do not think that any of the available Eurorack quantizers support the resolution needed to work with microtonality.
I ended up talking to Greg (asterisk) a bit behind the scenes about the possibility of it but sadly the Quantimator does not have the resolution to pull off the super fine tuning that microtonal scales would require. Bummer. _________________ [toppobrillo] [twitter] [blog] [flickr] [audio] |
