Adding some West Coast to the MU

Post by Chrutil » Fri Sep 20, 2019 2:56 am

Hi all,
Earlier this summer I was looking outside of the normal MU area, and started obsessing about the Buchla 252e Polyphonic Rhythm Generator, and in particular how I could build one for myself - in glorious MU format, of course.

It is finally starting to come together, so I thought I'd record a little video of the progress so far.
I've got ways to go writing software, but it it is off to a pretty good start.

Here's a little preview for those interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOmBG37Rgw4

Thanks,
C

First thought was this is a great refit job...
but it is not a refit. It's original.
Wow!
Really impressed with all that hardware and software work.

Hi all,
Just in case anyone is interested, I put this on the shelf for a few weeks to work on some other stuff I have been neglecting, but just got back to it to finish up some of the remaining functionality.

Here's a deep dive into the feature set, and a little bit about what it took to build it.

Great demos! Thanks a lot to show us the way you work, that's brilliant!
Clever laser cut also for the acrylic "grid" system to deal with this light interface. Very inspiring!
