Filters with linear response

Author Filters with linear response

While reading about the Wiard 300 system I realized the Omni filter can do linear fm, which is really intriguing because filters each have such a unique response to FM and I have always wondered what it would sound like if it wasn't just an exponential response.

Do any other filters have this feature?

What would it take to design a filter that could do linear fm? Anyone have schematics for the Omni filter? I have posted in the Wiard/Serge/etc. forum to ask if anyone could make a demo of how it sounds.

If you count the CGS Bi-N-Tic as a filter, that one has linear FM on the internal VCO.

Oakley Transistor ladder has it,
If the filter uses a separate exponential converter for the CV before the filter, it gets bypassed. (with appropriate mixer etc) for the linear input.

My MegaOhmAudio Delta VCF has it. And the normalization scheme gives it a VCA pre FM input. Fun and weird.
