been playing with lush 101 and the diva demos over the holidays and like these synths a lot. Sadly i found the lush 101 is just too buggy and at most times too cpu hungry. My computer is 2.5 years old so i have to wonder whether its just all progressing at a faster pace these days but as a result i am likely to grab diva.
Apart from these (and omnisphere which i have), is there anything that is recent that you guys are liking? I have peaked at KVR forums but there is too much noise on that forum. |

did i walk through the KVR door somewhere
i've been working w/samples and the modular... i haven't used a softsynth yet in 2013. i'll come back in a few months.
but.. before 2013 started... i was using Aalto, zebra, symptohm, granite, reaktor, tassman (which i did use in 2013 but as an effect. does that still count)

Aalto and U-he ACE is almost all I need in way of softsynths.
Old plugins can be good too, recently I've run the Waldorf PPG 2.V plugin through the Doepfer A-105 SSM filter and a VCA, sounds pretty nice. |

This past week I've rediscovered Sylenth1. The ease of creating great sounding patches very quickly is a lot of fun. I also use Reason and I've been working with Antidote. _________________ Audiovapor |

Tassman remains one of my favorite softsynths, simply because it offers something different from the usual crop of software analog clones. Alchemy is pretty cool, too, though I tend to use Kyma for the sorts of things Alchemy does best. KarmaFX Synth is inexpensive, modular and has some nice modules - well worth a look. Sonic Birth is good, if a bit quirky. It's a modular environment that allows you to save your creations as VST or AU plug-ins.
I can't afford a Buchla, so I too think Aalto is very cool. Berna is good fun for Radiophonic experimentation. |

Apart from sample libraries / Kontakt, Omnisphere and Alchemy get the most use here. Iris and Padshop Pro sometimes as well.
I have Diva, it's good when it works, but both Diva and Zebra are plagued with the "no sound" bug on my system, which makes me not use them that much. At any rate, Diva sounds nice, but my A6 sounds nicer. _________________ Now serving: Forbidden Star: ambient and cinema soundtrack | Boney Fiend: punk |

do you mean soft synths that came out in 2013, or just the ones that are our favourites right now?
if its the later i would have to say
1) Aalto (Sploosh!!!)
2) korg legacy collection (MS-20 and Mono-Poly modules in particular)
3) g-force M-Tron pro (yes i'm a sucker for old mellotron sounds but nowhere near masochistic enough to want to buy and maintain one)
oh yeah, does silent way count? if so, that one goes right at the top. |

I have bought some amazing software over the past few months, but hardly made time to play with it yet.
My favorite so far for 2013 is ancient - I bought Komplete 3 for cheap, which gets me final versions of some older NI that I like (back from when they were more interesting), as well as the current version of Reaktor. So, so far it's Reaktor, since this is all I've had time to play with. One week into the year as it is. |

I use most of the ones that have already been mentioned, I also tried D16 group's LuSH-101 and it was great, but even just one instance brought my CPU to its knees sadly!
I'm keen to try the new one from Waves called 'Element' though! |
