I just got the S.P.K. 6-LP/3-7" box set in the mail I've been eagerly anticipating!!! My first order from Vinyl on Demand and HOLY CRAP the packaging is a work of art! I have been kicking myself for blowing 3 months worth of record buying funds on one thing, but this thing is truely impressive and I haven't even had a chance to listen yet! This should keep me busy for a while...

Will buy the new Burial/FourTet collaboration.
will buy the new Bibio: Ambivalence Avenue off Warp, too. Shit is TOO good.

^^^^ that album reminds me a lot of an electronic Zappa, chord changes, gritty sound, the lot. wonderful MPC-workout stuff too.

that will pretty much be it for this year, I think. I like power-listening to music over several months, really getting to know it, and add to that that I don't have a lot of time where I listen to music at all (apart from what I work on) there really isn't room for a lot of albums.

oh shit, didn't realize it wasn't out on DL yet. Crud. Alright, I'll wait a month. No biggie :-D Good things are worth waiting for, innit.

Shit man, how on EARTH can a term "Sold out" even fucking APPLY to music these days? I don't get it. And no, I won't be buying it on iTunes (religious reasons)

u2 - "the joshua tree" 20th anniversary edition, double heavyweight vinyl

skip james - "the complete recordings" (you might know one of these early blues tracks from the ghostworld movie)

the previously mentioned "death in june" and "black dog" releases are also still on heavy rotation!

last summer i brought back a lot of my old vinyl collection from the uk, mainly techno and ambient stuff from around 1990-1994. i have been spinning the orb's "adventures beyond the ultraworld" and "the blue room" 12" a lot. great stuff! i'm not really a fan of anything after "u.f.orb" though.

I DO like Orbus Terrarum... though Orblivion was really the first thing that got me hooked.

if only Montagne D'Or was longer on Orbus.....

cool, i also have the jimmy cauty "space" album and the klf's "chill out" on vinyl too. i don't think fsol's "lifeforms" album has stood the test of time well, but the the first amorphous androgynous album still sounds fantastic.

i also have a shitload of old german trance and ambient form the same time period too, a load of fax/pete namlook, harthouse stuff etc.
