The "14 easels" meme is not true. I'm don't know the actual number but I bet it's in the 50-100 range, at least.

even still, if they're not doing anything with the IP its not like someone else using the term could possibly cost them my patronage.

It does seem like the Malekko stuff will come to an end after the upcoming modules Grant has said he will be doing, which I think is a real shame, given that most of the problems that occur with euro format (arguably all) can most likely be fixed.

That said, it will be awesome if Wiard modules continue to come out in a different format that is still affordable. Hard to imagine this happening the same way Josh has been able to do it with the big productions runs (and without the market base of euro users), hopefully these two are still working together. Wouldn't mind having a sensible, precise and clean power supply/distribution either.

Gotta be grateful that you can buy a module like the Envelator for $185 new. Regardless of whether I am using some new format or start robbing people to get a 300 system before they are all gone, a case full of Malekko Wiard is going to be next to it.

Of course all of this is entirely speculative and like everyone else I'm eager to get my hands on more Wiard stuff, so talking about it on the internet is what I resort to (instead of making more music).

That'd be cool. I'd like to see him do that 2nd.

First I'm hoping he'll develop the production version of the
Anti-Envelope.

i dont want to rain on anyones parade, but make sure you contact grant before you start dreaming about buying a whole system. unless he reprints more runs of some of the circuit boards some of the modules(borg and mixolator) are not available.

again, i am not speaking for grant. i am just merely passing on info that some may want to know before they start planning a whole system.

Hi there,

Just for clarification, whatever you may have heard in the past has now changed.

We do plan to make all the modules available again, and the initial focus will indeed be on building a small run of full 300 systems for those interested, and completing existing customers' systems.

We have no plans to build more Frac Rack modules, since these have now been replaced by the Malekko Euro line (which will continue to expand).

I can't give you any definite pricing information for new systems yet or answer specific questions yet, because I'm still sorting that out, but if you are definitely interested in making a purchase and know what you want, feel free to email sales@wiard.com early, and I will get a formal quotation prepared as soon as possible (expect to receive responses from the beginning of next month, since that is when I will be officially taking over management, sales, and customer correspondence, freeing Grant's valuable time for design and engineering).

Best wishes,
Cary

We have no plans to build more Frac Rack modules, since these are basically made redundant by the Malekko Euro line (which will continue and expand, but will not be handled by me).

This is great news (about Euro, not about Frac). Wiard/Malekko is the only reason I'm starting a small Euro rig this month, since I can't afford the 300 series. It'll take me a couple years to have a decent system.

good to hear about the euro. I already have quite a few of Grant's designs in that format. I'd also possibly be interested in a standalone thing from Grant as well depending on price and form factor.
