i'm thinking that the photo resistors on the board weevil are going to be an issue in performance

you think it would be safe to add a pot as an alternate control? and what kind?

I like the photo resistors for controlled environments but not so much for stage/live

Softpots would be cool. Although you have to keep them depressed.

Just talk to them about the economy, the DR or Congo, or my last DIY project then! meh

Hi CriticalMonkey

The light sensors are actually in PARALLEL to the Osc1 / Starve dials.

There is a note on the instructions saying to turn the associated dial fully down when using the light sensors -- this will give them the maximum range. If you turn the dials up then you change the 'minimum' rate (eg. the lowest pitch you'll get when darkness falls on the sensors). Unfortunately, there's no particularly easy way to add a 'maximum' control -- I could have designed it with an extra dial for setting the max. point, but this dial would have been redundant at non-sensor times.. (I kind of saw the light sensors as a simple little bonus - not a main feature).

The main pots are all 1M and the light sensors are c.1M or more when fully dark, rising to maybe 10k or less when light.

Hope that helps?!
Cheers,
Tom
