That's a guitar stand. Try looking at guitar cabinet stands.

This looks promising. I wonder if my 10U rack would be safe and sturdy on this. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/musicians-gear-deluxe-amp-s tand?CJAID=10684459&CJPID=3640931

This DIY milk crate idea is somewhat appealing to me as well

You're a state too far away; my best mate can do all this sort of stuff for me... wonderful man that i pay in beer.

I like the milk crate idea. I really want the modular to be raised off the ground so I can fit the skiff under it.

i use one of those for gigging, i put 15u of frac on it (abt 60 lbs) no issues... sometimes even put a piece of plywood down that's deeper than the cabinet, to hold the ribbon controller or a couple small utility box modules.

The OnStage amp stand ia pretty good deal - under $40 on Amazon. It can hold 152 lbs. 24" from the floor. That may be too low but it looks like it mad be modified If you have access to some metalworking tools.

OnStage also makes some stands they call T-stands:

They can hold up to 300 lbs. 37.5" off the floor. They are $67 (list at $135) on Amazon. You just need a board or the lid from you rig as a surface.

I have one of those angled amp stands so I can bring a case out with me and it always has a place to sit (when I remember to bring it). Works great.

I've got 2 Quick Lok Z stands. The best heavy duty stand! I have the ones that were solid before they made the breakdown stand. Those are quite good, very wide, and hold about 250 lbs. I haven't tried the ones in the pics yet, but I'll buy one soon.

I made 5 foot long by 3 foot wide tabletops to sit on my stands. Lot's of room to work on these.

Don't know if it will suit you but this Ultimate keyboard stand (APEX Series) and a cheap Ikea shelf for the skiff are pretty fine with me...

Yes they do. Its also made by Quickloc and is called the Amp Stand. They have others on this site that might do the trick. They are very good stands. The one in the photo is adjustable to a much lower position.

Adjustable too in low position and the case remains slightly tilted above the ground..

I am posting this link in any thread that talks about stands

I set my studio up in its current state back in 2012 and haven't had any problems. Most people comment on how ergonomic it is... http://artoftravelogue.blogspot.com/2012/09/setting-up-new-workspace.h tml

This holds rackmounts, 5 different modular formats, etc.

You can literally set up any angle with this method and line up the faces of odd-shaped gear perfectly.

I use a Yorkville amp stand for a 3U and a 6U case. I have it on the floor adjusted to the highest level and it's stable and works very nicely. It's also portable and I can have the same set up when jamming as at home.

$60 in Canada

So far all of these stands (mainly the amp stands) are quite low to the floor, so I'm curious how you plan to use these for live applications. Are you extremely short, or perhaps sitting on the floor? I'm 6'2" and I imagine I'd have to lean quite low to access my rig on one of those "adjustable height" stands. I love the form of the previously mentioned QuikLok & the one on Musician's Friend, but I'd have to put THOSE stands on some other stand or raised platform to access while standing seriously, i just don't get it

I have one of these:

Works well when you want to wiggle standing.
It's heavy duty, but I wouldn't put more than 9U on it...

Thanks, Tim, but I'm a 5U / MU user, so my case is much bigger & heavier, hence my attraction to those sturdy looking amp stands.

Oh, I see.

Well, like you said, all the amp stands I have seen are really too low.

There's definitely a hole in the market here.
With all the modular case makers around these days, I'm surprised that nobody is doing floor stands.

Yeah, I'm currently using a 3-tier QuikLok stand in an odd way to make things work, but the stand is very bulky & heavy with an unused tier in the configuration to facilitate the case raised and on an angle.

I found a resource with so many amp stands that I never knew existed. Some are epic and might help: http://guitarpickzone.com/best-guitar-amp-stand/

Looking for a desktop stand for my 9U case...maybe something like this but I would really prefer to choose the angle and have options to change between almost horizontal and almost vertical?

Any idea? Anyone care to share what they're using?
