Last winter, Balvenie 21
This past summer, Bulleit bourbon.
Been too busy to drink for a couple months but have a barely-touched bottle of Blanton's bourbon and an unopened Glenmorangie 10 calling my name soon as January hits... |

Either Laphroaig 10 or Oban 12. Depends on what mood I'm in!

| I'm partial to Laphroaig Quarter Cask or Dalwhinnie. Even Laphroaig 10 Year is pretty nice though, and until recently it was one of the least expensive single malts. |

bar bourbon = old grandad
nicer bourbon for when with the family = makers mark
buy a gift for yourself bourbon = pappy van winkle family reserve
bar blended = cutty sark
nicer blended for when with the family = johnnie walker black
buy a gift for yourself blended = ballantine's 17
bar single malt = don't really do that
nicer single malt for when with the family = auchentoshan classic
buy a gift for yourself single = edradour 30
bar rye = old overholt (a good choice as mentioned above!)
nicer rye for when with the family = old potrero
buy a gift for yourself rye = red hook rye OR hotaling's whisky (if you can find either)
fwiw i have owned and drank or still own and am drinking all of the above. i've tasted many more but the above list is my favorite in my experience. there's still a lot out there i haven't tried, obv. don't know that much about irish, it's always either powers or bushmills reg for me if i do sip on it.
now THIS is a topic i could talk for hours about! |

| Glad to see so many out there are partial to a REAL mans drink. People scoff when I order whisky on a night out, 'why not have a lager' they say. Maybe its because im only 22. But lager just doesn't shake off the cold like whisky does. |

at the bar i'd just much rather spend $15 and get two quality drinks then spend $15 and get 4 shitty beers.
i'm a plain man too, but if i'm shootin x5 it's old grandad (or in a pinch and the bar doesn't have any decent lower tiers i'll do jim beam) always neat and always in a thimble. i just could never get into jameson for some reason. |

is bourbon really whisky/whiskey? for bourbon i like wild turkey. but if i drink borubon it's usually with coke. can't stand that JD sour mash crap.
for single malt scotch i used to be a big fan of some of the islay's about ten years ago, built up a collection of about 12-15 at one stage, but have mostly gone off them now, although i do enjoy the regular bottling of lagavulin when i'm out and about sometimes, good way to finish off an evening.
these days i prefer the speyside's, my favourite being the eighteen year old glenlivet. _________________ Hermetech Mastering | Discogs | SoundCloud | Bandcamp | Facebook | Pathmusick |

Ugh -- whiskey. I’ve had just enough brands to know it’s not the preferred drink for me, but among those I’ve drank, Wild Turkey was noticeably, if slightly better. |

Heh, according to Wikipedia:
“On May 9, 2000, a seven-story warehouse in Anderson County, Kentucky was destroyed in a fire, spilling the contents of thousands of gallons of the company's [Wild Turkey] whiskey aging barrels into the Kentucky River. The alcohol spills killed hundreds of thousands of fish along a 66 mile stretch of the river. The company paid $256,000 to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife in an effort to restore the fish population in the river.”

Benromach Organic is stupendously good.
If I want to spend any more I hunt out a good single-cask Speyside bottling.
I once had an amazing Balvenie 15 single-barrel, it was a magical batch. That's what I love about single-cask - complexity and real character that's unique and will never be tasted again! |

I really have probs to get the names of Scottish whisky into my head thus I've to stick to Oban which is both easy to remember and of great taste. _________________ elektrograd |

if it's blended and distilled, it's going down 'cause i'm easy to please when it comes to whiskey...
bourbon - crown royal black, wild turkey or maker's mark
scotch - chevis regal 12
i'm also an equal-oportunity alcoholic. i love tequila, absinthe and vodka.
i need glasses from trying too many types of alcohol. _________________ OpenTape

You know... I bought a bottle of Crown Royal Black for my father a few years ago because Crown is his favorite, but I really didn't detect much that impressed me.
Also, if you're an absinthe hound... I am as well... Roquette 1797 is amazing if ever you should come across a bottle. _________________ Perhaps all pleasure is only relief. |

Sazerac Rye is the whiskey of choice at chaos acres. And for once, the 18 year aged, very expensive, version is not nearly so much to my taste as the "plain old ordinary" Sazerac.
It's good enough that it often substitutes for cognac as a sipping drink in the evening.
For those interested in such things, I highly recommend Kindred Spirits 2 (or later) by F. Paul Pacult. He does pretty amazing analyses and reviews of liquors and liqueurs.
The book is a compilation/'condensation to the best of' (dare I say, 'distillation'?) of the 2000-2007 Spirt Journal which Pacult edits and publishes.
cheers,

I worked in the John Haig (Dimple anyone?) distillery when I was a student. In these days you could drink as much as you liked as long as you could still do your job. And every male worker was given a (any size) dram at the end of the working day. Haven't touched whisky since........ _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/justwaving |

I enjoy Old Pogue Bourbon, just enough sweetness and fire for the belly while not being to expensive. Living in Kentucky most of my life, I've gotten spoiled by the offerings. Case in point; my father-in-law last year got a hold of some 24 year old Pappy Van Winkle. It was incredible to say the least; deep caramel notes, smooth velvety mouth feel, and a wonderful burn.
If you live near Kentucky and like Bourbon, you should make it a point to go on the Bourbon Trail.
The only distillery on the list I've been to is Woodford Reserve, because I live like 20 minutes from it, but it was awesome. They let us drink bourbon right out of the barrel, soot and all _________________ The Hope Circuit

Eagle Rare is a tasty bourbon, for being in the 'makers marks' price range i think its pretty 'adult' without too much hairiness, i prefer it to MM, woodford, knob creek, buffalo trace etc.
Bulleit is even cheaper and yet also has resPectabilty.
I love scotch, but it always seems a little more than i can spend. My dad bought me the cheapest mckellen, the 10 year, ands really not so good....and not so cheap. The older mckellen's are better.
I dunno, bourbon is plenty satisfying to me. Not sure if anyone wants to seperate it from 'whisky' or not. _________________ ||The Clairalient Novice||Flatus Battle||

Laphroaig Quarter Cask is my favorite, though I'm out of it at the moment. Enjoying a bottle of Aberlour at the moment that a friend gave me while I wait for the next shipment of Quarter Cask. _________________ Dave Jones Design | http://www.jonesvideo.com |

Odd to find so many fellow Laphroaig fans here.
I also love the occasional emails I get from John Campbell at the distillery. They have the flavour of something written by by a guy who doesn't have a marketing department looking over his shoulder. They're just ever so slightly unpolished. |

I really like Talisker and Laphroaig Quarter Cask.
I buy 'one' bottle a month and usually sneak in a second bottle under the radar, pretending that I've really made that first bottle last |

I guess I’m in the emasculation line right behind you; not that I have anything at all against booze connoisseurs -- to each his own -- but I drink to feel intoxicated, and garner the personal, practical benefits of that mental state. I appreciate the efficiency and agreeability of decent vodka, over the refined hobby of parsing the subtleties of pete moss and charcoal. To that end I most often opt for the 1.75 liter bottle of Skyy vodka, which I can usually find at a local grocery store for about $23. The other week I happened upon New Amsterdam brand on sale at 16 bucks for the 1.75L bottle, so I grabbed four. New Amsterdam is about as low on the middle shelves as I’ll go. |

A few years back I noticed J & B scotch on sale while at a local liquor store and decided to try it for the first time for the sake of the throwback, Dean Martin novelty appeal. The worst scotch/whiskey I’ve had so far. |

| My regular, aka cheap stuff, consists of Seagrams 7 and George Dickel. If I feel like blowing a decent amount of money on whiskey than I usually go with Knob Creek. |

My absolute favorite? That's so easy... Suntory The Yamazaki 18 year. And if that is unavailable, the 12 year will do nicely. I'm also quite fond of the less peaty Isly ones, like Bunnahabhain 18 year.
It would be a shame to choose only one, because part of the enjoyment of whisky is tasting what's out there.
One thing is for certain, though. Older is not necessarily better, just as single malt is not necessarily better than blended whisky. But most fools who think they know whisky find that very hard to accept. |

| I've been an Islay whore for my entire whisky drinking life. I love Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Caol Ila but also Talisker is nice. This last weekend however I discovered Glenmorangie Lasanta in an attempt to start appreciate the more subtle qualities. It was one of the greatest whisky experiences I've ever had! |

That was my opinion too, until a woman turned me on to what whisky can taste like. Hint: It's not all fire and peat and grizzly old salt of the earth.
I don't drink to get fucked up. I work with food/bev, and am all about flavors. The whiskys I happen to enjoy are smooth, balanced, and have a complexity that leaves me speechless.
But we only know what we've experienced. Someday I hope you discover a whisky that turns your reality upside down. In a good way. |

Laphroaig is an Islay scotch. It tastes like paint thinner. Some people like it, but it's not a good starting place for scotch.
Balvenie 15 is a Speyside. It tastes like vanilla, caramel, oak... Speysides are a good place to start if you've had blended scotch or blended whisky and find it to be industrial-tasting. |

Been sipping Dalwhinnie 15 with a few drops of water as my go-to Scotch... also love Highland Park 12.
If I'm out at a bar and not drinking beer, it's usually a Maker's Mark Manhattan.

Oh man, my local pub had a bottle of that earlier this year. Me and Mrs. Bluebox put one heck of a hurtin' on it. That's delicious bourbon.

That sounds like good advice (I guess).
My pallet is not so complex. I enjoy Jim Beam and Makers Mark. Bourbons seem sweeter or mellower than the whiskeys I have tried. I find Wild Turkey, Ancient Age, Canadien Club, Cutty Sark, Bushmills, Crown Royale and Johnnie Walker (Red or Black) to not be to my liking.
Is there a Bourbon just above Makers Mark that is reasonably priced for a part time sipper? |

Bulleit bourbon is $24 a bottle here (Ohio) and I prefer it to Makers. The draw of single-malt/micro-distilleries is that you get individual and specific flavors. Macro-distilleries use lower quality grains, brew/distill as fast as possible, and then filter out the off-taste.
Smaller/craft distilleries use higher-quality and more expensive grain which tastes better. Bulleit in particular uses a lot of rye in their bourbon (20+% if I remember right) which tastes awesome. |

it's actually between 30-35% rye. bulleit does not have a distillery home, so it is made by various distilleries in a kind of like a puzzle piece fashion. diageo (the distributor/owner of the bulleit name) buys it's mash bill in parts from other actual distilleries, and the bulleit of today gets it high rye content bill from the four roses distillery in lawrenceberg. the rest of the bill for bulleit is from jim beam and tom moore (sazerac and ridgemont reserve), iirc.
but at any rate, if you like the taste and rye content of bulleit, definitely take a taste or two of four roses. it's got the same high rye content obviously, but because they (four roses) actually make their own bourbon there it's got the distiller's craft attached to it rather than just some patchwork bourbon.
similarly, maker's has one of the highest wheat contents of any bourbon. hence it's "softness" and "subtlety." also why it was called the ladies bourbon in the 70s, similar to dalwhinnie being called the ladies single.
i like em all though! |

I've been drinking a lot of American whiskey recently. Jefferson's Reserve Bourbon and 10 Year Old Straight Rye have both been through my cabinet recently. I also bought myself what's probably the last bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 15 year old in Chicago...they wont be making it anymore. I probably should have held on to it and sold it at auction later, but instead i'm drinking it
If you can find it, pick up Benchmark, it's my new favorite bourbon. I cant for the life of me figure out why it's so cheap (9.99 for a 750mL, 19.99 for a 1.75L.) It sips great and mixes well too.
I've stopped drinking peaty scotch since throwing a bunch of it up over last years , but i do still have a full cabinet...multiple Laphroaig bottlings, Port Charlotte bottlings, and the crown jewel of my collection, a bottle of Port Ellen (Signatory bottling) distilled 10/14/1982...12 days after i was born
For those who want a nice scotch to ease in, try Clynelish 14. Super easy, soft coastal Highland. Great stuff. _________________ Vactrols are the electronic equivalent of being drunk. -decaying.sine |

i used to really like Laphroaig but upon several tastings sessions i realised it was almost my least favourite - i think i used to pick it out because it was so distinctive and i had not developed taste for whiskey. _________________ .

I had never really tried scotch but have been intending to. xmas eve I picked up some ardbeg and also got to try some glennfiddich. The glenfiddich went down easy but I thought the taste was muted compared to the ardbeg. _________________ DIY panels and PCBs for Buchla and Euro format: http://synthpanels.blogspot.de/

| Highland Park and Cragganmore. I haven't had the opportunity to try a whole lot of different single malts (maybe 15 of 'em?)... I mostly drink whisky for special occasions, or once in a while, so dropping $50 on a full bottle doesn't happen too often. |

Found a bottle of Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix under the tree. Haven't sipped any yet but the reviews I've read paint it as a pretty decent drink. _________________

Laphroaig Quarter Cask a lot of the time.
Ardbeg even more.
I picked up some old overholt awhile back and really liked it.
I'd like to try some more ryes when i get a chance _________________ Tacoma Noise Rodeo

Was at an Ardbeg tasting recently, and picked up a bottle of Alligator for a steal. The 10 year was also very tasty.
Wondering where Doc Oc is in this thread? The man has impeccable taste in all things drinkable. _________________ bsmith: it would be awesome to see people with lots of euro give them pokemon values and do battle

Resurrection!
So I went to a nearby store this evening with the mission of picking up a decent Scotch. Going by some recommendations here, I intended to buy a bottle of Laphroaig, but a guy that worked there with some amazing gray mutton chops suggested the Tomintoul 16 Year as he felt the Laphroaig tasted and smelled like Band-Aids...
Strange as it may sound, this description turned me off a bit as, of all things I find Band-Aids repulsive.
After trying the Tomintoul, I kinda wish that I'd ignored the wicked, grizzled mutton chops and Band-Aid talk and gone with the Laphroaig. The Tomintoul is a bit too light and sweet for my expectations. It's not bad... Just perhaps not what I was expecting. _________________ Perhaps all pleasure is only relief. |

Ok... Giving the Laphroaig 10 Year a go... The smell was a bit overwhelming at first, but I absolutely prefer this over the Tomintoul.
I guess I just like a strong whisky. _________________ Perhaps all pleasure is only relief. |

Sorry oblis, never responded to this.
You should be able to find some sazerac at Specs. Not sure if Twin Liquors is going to have it, but their selection is getting better.
oblis, you should also come out to the monthly synth meets. _________________ www.soundcloud.com/jeannot-q

When I think of Whisky I think of Islay single malts. I do like a bit of bourbon and other whiskys too but like the strong tastes best. As a vegetarian I have a strangely strong preference for whisky that tastes like old leather. I also like to be blasted with a powerful smoky taste that evolves over minutes rather than seconds. I am a smoker, have read that smokers usually prefer the stronger Islays than non-smokers, not sure how true that is.
My current favourite is Ardbeg Corryvreckan, would love to try some other Ardbegs, that's my first from them. Lagavulin 16 y/o is also a long time favourite. Both of these come highly recommended if you like strong smoky whiskys. |

Need to resurrect this thread.
Got into whiskey after going to the Chicago Highland Games one year and Macallan was putting on a tasting tent. Got to taste about everything they made at that time, including 25yr and the two 1800's replicas they had just released at the time. Hooked _instantly_.
Was a big Macallan 18 and Cask strength junkie for a long time, but prices on their stuff got silly a few years back. Currently going through a bottle of Bruichladdich '92 sherry. Very nice stuff.
Other than scotch, I'm a huge rye drinker. My current favorite is Willett single barrel rye.
Have had numerous bottles from various barrels and not a single bad one yet. Also picked up a Willett 21 yr single barrel bourbon recently as a bday gift. All I can say is outstanding!
On the cheap I drink (Ri)1 which is what got me hooked on rye whiskey in the first place. Makes good cocktails too.

I like laphroig and ardbeg for scotch. Knob Creek is probably my favorite bourbon. I've only tried a few ryes (sazerac, high west) but they haven't tasted complex enough to me as a stand alone. However, i think ryes are really great mixing whiskeys. _________________ DIY panels and PCBs for Buchla and Euro format: http://synthpanels.blogspot.de/

I am amazed at how many different whiskeys are out there now. It used to be just Jack and Jim. Which both pale in comparison to what is on the market these days. But to answer the thread I prefer Maker's Mark or Bulleit Rye. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/k-ram-1 |

Bourbon:
My all time favorite was Van Winkle 25 yr (bought two bottles for 75.00 each or so), now expect to pay 300-500.
20 yr and 12 yr are great too.
Affordable and drinkable: Rowan's Creek (prefer this to Noah's Mill) and Eagle Rare. Four Roses Small batch is a nice choice as well.
Scotch:
The best I had was a 20 yr from Cadenhead Reserve (Speyside). I like Lagavulin 16 and Dalwinnie (sp?) 15 as well.
Blends are nice and light as well. |

Laphroaig is what I keep around the house for a late evening snort. I'd settle for Lagavulin or Oban in a pinch.
I also have Jameson's around for Irish coffee. |

Scotch
Never met one I didn't like, so my favorite is one in my hand.
Kinda shocked there are so many Laphroig lovers here, as its intense iodine quality puts a lot of drinkers off. Love or hate it. Personally...well, read the first sentence above.
I don't buy it much anymore (well, not the single malts), as I don't drink often and the prices are FUCKING outrageous nowadays.
However, my regulars/memorable ones are/were:
Lagavulin 16
Talisker
Oban
Aberlour
Balvinie (any, but my most memorable was their single barrel, cask strength)
Cardhu
Laphroig 15 (I've only had 1 bottle, back in 1993, my brother gave it to me as a wedding gift.)
Isle of Jura
Because of the price, though, I tend to stick with blends:
Johnnie Walker Black (currently have a bottle of their Double Black, which is just a bit better than the regular).
Pinch
Rye
I've only started drinking this in the last 3 years as it's making something of a comeback in the US. I like it straight up or on ice, and definitely for any mixed drinks. Makes a great Mint Julep. But I haven't set on any brand. Sazerac I really liked...but, again, I haven't found one I didn't really like.
Interesting to note that Rye was THE American whiskey pre-Prohibition. When someone said "whiskey" back then, rye was what they were talking about. If they meant Bourbon, they said Bourbon. Therefore, all whiskey coctails invented before Prohibition really should be made with rye. Bourbon simply has the wrong flavor profile for them. Try it, you might be surprised.
Bourbon
Sorry, I simply cannot drink it. Filthy stuff. I had a bad run in with it early in my college drinking years that left me physically unable to smell it without feeling sick, even after 36 years--it's like something straight out of A Clockwork Orange. I've tried revisiting it over the years, even getting some of the small barrel premium stuff...it's still Bourbon and I can't drink it. Period. _________________ "None of your five bar gate jumps and over sort of stuff." |

My brother had it happen to him in high school with Jack Daniels, and then when I lived near Nashville for a bit (20 years later) a dragged him to the Jack Daniels Distillery for their tour and he was just about green the whole tour just from the smell of it!
(By the way, the county Jack is made in is DRY! So you can't even have a sip of it at the distillery) |

Not in my case. I never had to get sick on it to hate it because I have never been able to stand even the smell of whiskey, let alone the taste. When I drank (which hasn't been for almost ten years), I preferred vodka martinis or straight mescal, but while I could handle other types of liquors, too, any kind of whiskey just repulsed me, and no mixer could cover it up for me.
About fifteen or twenty years ago when I was playing music with a couple friends, one had a bottle of rather expensive (50-yr-old?) rye whiskey, and despite my expressed revulsion they insisted that I try it stating that it was "good sipping whiskey". I thought it was terrible! The mere aroma of it was bad enough, but the taste of it just disgusted me. When they showed surprise in my reaction and said, "But this is expensive stuff! It's been aged for fifty years!", I told them, "I don't care how expensive it is, it tastes like rot-gut brown liquor to me!" They merely reacted to this by saying that it left more for them, but as far as I was concerned, they could have it.
I enjoyed both tequila and mescal, and got two free shots of each when some Mexican restauranteurs bet me that I couldn't tell the difference between them, and I could tell by aroma alone. But my old roommate (one of the musicians in the "rye incident") asked me to try some "expensive" tequila that had been aged for ten or twenty years in charred wooden barrels. I thought it was awful! I told him that they had ruined perfectly good tequila! It tasted like agave Jack Daniel's. That is when I realized that it is the very aging process and resultant caramelization from the charred barrels used in making whiskey that disgusted me so.
Now because of some medications I must take, I have to avoid alcohol altogether. I don't really miss it all that much, although I will occasionally think fondly of a well-made very-dry vodka martini. (My wife became an expert in making them perfectly for me "with an extra olive".) But I will never miss any kind of whiskey, whether it's sour mash, bourbon, Canadian whiskey, or 50-yo scotch. Those of you who like it, that's fine! You can have it! But I didn't have to get sick on it to dislike it because I always have. |

Another vote for Lagavulin 16 here. My all time favourite.
I like a classic Glenmorangie too, when I'm in the mood for something sweet. |

Difficult one, but I think I'll have to go with Caol Ila 12 years. It's like being in a boat. A boat that's burning. And is made of hay.
Runners up would be Lagavulin 16, Talisker 18 and Bushmill's 10 as it was the whisky that got me hooked on whisky. _________________ FS/FT MonoMachine MKII - want euro

Anyone tried any of the clear rye whiskies?
I was surprised by the smoothness when compared to any whisky encountered previously. |

Really enjoying Rowan's Creek this year. Nice balance of vanilla and caramel, surprisingly balanced for what it is. If in the market for sub $40 small batch bourbon, definitely give it a taste
My top of all time will always be Green Spot. Someone in the states please let me know where I can buy it regularly. |

Just finished a bottle of this today... great stuff... some good sweet/light flavors but a hint of smoke as well. _________________ Do you wear nail polish?! Super Black Lacquers: Holographic, Glitter & Solid Nail Polish |

not really into this single malt trend, mostly due to price. but laphroaig is pretty tasty, and most of what i've tried is... exciting, at least for a moment! regular sippin, tho, i'd take a crown royal over all the rest. smooth n tangy thass ma shtyle *falls over* _________________ (ignatius) "it's like Point Break meets Schindler's List"

Im a big Wiskey drinker.
My favourite scotch is Laphoraig Quarter cask, it has all the good parts of the standard laphoraig, but its just sligtly less peaty.
I love Burbon as well **awaits backlash from purists**
My mrs goes over to the U.S. a few times a year with work and I always get some obscure boutique burbon brought back, a personal favourite was Noahs Hill, I say was, because the bottle is empty now
Another favourite Burbon is Evans Willaims single barrell, if you haven't tried that you really should pick up a bottle.
My standard purchase is Buffalo Trace, for the money it really cant be beaten, its only £18 for 750cl in my local supermarket.
At the risk off offending the purists, my all time favourite is Hibiki 17, by Suntory of Japan, I challenge anyone to find a somther yet more complex whisky, every second of the drinking experience is faultless.
Its about £75 a bottle in the UK, so I only really get one a year and make it last.
To be fair, all of the Suntory wiskeys are amazing, I went to the Yamazaki distillery last year when I was in Japan, I got to sample everything from the brand new 2 day old clear spirit, to their 30 year old.
If you are in Japan I reccomend a visit. |

Dunno what you have access to but my favorites are balvenie 12/15/21... different but same family of flavors... lots of vanilla, caramel, sweet/light flavors.
Also, it's not scotch, but bulleit rye is amazing & cheap for how good it is. _________________ Do you wear nail polish?! Super Black Lacquers: Holographic, Glitter & Solid Nail Polish |

Drewtoothpaste, we must have similar palates. You just named a bunch of my favorites including that Rye.
Wanted to try something new. Yamazaki may be the ticket.
Lapphroig is way to peaty. I've got a bottle of the 10 sitting there just in case someone is ever over and asks me to explain peaty. |

What else do you like? I enjoyed Aberlour 10 when I got it a few years back (cinnamon-y, almost, if I remember right.) Also big on Hennessey hahah. _________________ Do you wear nail polish?! Super Black Lacquers: Holographic, Glitter & Solid Nail Polish |

Yamazaki and Hibiki are 2 different distilleries.
Try the Hibiki 12, then if you love it go for the older/more pricey hibiki 18. |

| Ha I've always wanted to try old crow just for the horror value. Frankly I tend to shy away from more expensive stuff aside from knob creek. I'm a big fan of old grand dad, but not the 100 proof due to the increased burn. I also have a soft spot for cheap stuff like Seagrams 7, dickel's cascade hallow, and ancient age 10 star ( regular ancient age is fucking aftershave though). in terms of scotch I like cutty and again have been underwhelmed by the more expensive options I've sampled. The most expensive thing I purchased recently was Hendricks gin, but frankly I still prefer cheaper fare like beef eater and Bombay sapphire. |

On the 'Murican side:
KNOB CREEK or BOOKER'S
I didn't know bourbons could be this good...
On the Euro side:
Laphroaig 10 is a good all rounder
Lagavulin 16 is a 'partner' in good night
On the ABSOLUTE side (40 years, my age). Give a Fuck please:

Man, this one was not easy to find in NL.
A friend of mine couldn't even locate it in the USA...
And then you walk across Lincoln, UK... and notice this beauty in the shopwindow....

Damn, I have a lot of new whiskeys to try.
My own faves: Bourbon: Makers Mark
Scotch: Glenfiddich 15, and I usually keep a handle of Johnny Walker Red around _________________ http://soundcloud.com/gobobog |
