A place for the string slingers, pedal freaks and amp snobs in our midst.

Because nothing succeeds like excess, right? Anyway. I think I wrapped up the stringed things corner of the studio today, with help from an Ikea IVAR shelf unit. Not shown is the slide guitar that feeds the left hand pedalboard, rack FX, and then the two small amps in stereo. Everything is so tight to the walls that I put some Auralex behind the open-backed cabinets, which worked surprisingly well. Sounds fine in the room, time will tell how well it records (I'm still weeks from recording).
Yes, that's an Emery Sound Superbaby. Beautiful amp, a little dark and woody sounding but does lovely things when pushed hard, even at "kids asleep" volume. The guitar is a Scott Walker Special, custom built, with three Harmonic Design Z-90 pickups; not at all the same thing as a P-90 but special in a similar way. I've got them set low enough that they are brilliant and clear, raise them another 1/16" or so closer to the strings and they will scream.
Canon Camera, yes, and...right before this shot, had been sitting under a powerful LCD monitor for a few hours. Oops. Strong magnetic field threw the CCD off by a serious margin. Sorry for the crappy quality, this is the same little ELF 400 I use for most of my other pix on the forum but this one looks like ass.
