Hello. This is Roger from Big City Music. First off, I would like to make something very clear.... WE ARE NOT PLAN B, and we cannot make decisions for Plan B (I wish we could).

As you may be aware, we began selling Plan B modules early this year. There has always been a strong interest from a segment of our customers in Plan B modules. Since we began selling them, customers have been quite happy with their purchases. Yes, we test all modules and weed out the bad ones before selling them.

We've heard from a few people who purchased and paid for Plan B modules DIRECTLY FROM PLAN B and have yet to receive their modules. We mentioned their names to Peter Grenader and remain hopeful that these modules will be delivered. We will continue trying to help as best we can on their behalf.

If you purchased a module (or modules) from Plan B that has never been delivered to you, please send us an email. I cannot guarantee anything, but we will do whatever we can to improve an obviously bad situation. I am hoping that the number of modules owed is as small as we think. But since there is an air of uncertainty in all this, please send your emails to this new address. Stephi will be monitoring and keeping track of who is owed what:

waitingformodule@gmail.com

Please put PLAN B MUFF along with the module type(s) owed in the subject window of your email (example: PLAN B MUFF - Model 32) and include the following information in the body of your email:

1.) Your Muff Wiggler Username
2.) Your Name
3.) Your Address
4.) Your Telephone Number
5.) What module(s) you ordered, and when you ordered
6.) How you paid, and the date you paid
7.) What module(s), if any, you have received so far

Also, please let us know if there is any ongoing PayPal or credit card dispute.

I realize there are also people who sent modules in to Plan B for repair. For the time being, we will focus on trying to help those who have paid for modules and did not receive them yet. If we see results and are able to get those problems cleared up, we would certainly consider the possibility of helping anyone who sent a module in for repair to Plan B. One disaster at a time please.

Once again, we are not Plan B and we cannot guarantee results. But we will do our best to help in any way we can. Thank you!

Best Wishes,
Roger Cordell

I'm not involved with this situation, but I must commend you Roger for going out of your way to try to rectify this situation you had no need to deal with.

Thank you for the support panda30y.

It's interesting that your location is Chicago/Detroit. Josh (here at BCM) is from Detroit and I am from Chicago. I still miss the amazing pizza and hot dogs! ;-)

HI Roger

I have never dealt with you before but brilliant if you can help just one person its a start. It would be great if people like myself who have modules that they only saw for 2 days in 6 months could get their modules back.

Its ridiculous that you have to clean up Plan B's mess.

All i can say to you as a distributor is make sure you get paid !!! Be careful!!!

Quoted from the locked sticky thread originally titled "Is Plan B Dead?"
fridgebuzzz wrote:
Hello All,

I've stayed away from posting in these Plan B threads but after seeing what JTClicker just wrote, I thought I would share.

Full Disclosure:

1) This is my first post here although I have been reading since it became the Analogue Haven message board.

2) I am a former Plan B employee, more specifically, an intern.

In the Summer of 2006 I drove out to LA from NYC to work for Peter and receive college credit for my M.Tech degree. The company was just Peter and Tim J. at that point and we worked out of Peter's living room(exhibit A: http://www.ear-group.net/c388.jpg). I was unpaid and worked there 9-5 for about 6 weeks.

I paid Peter $700+ for module kits that I would build myself (He did this for all employees and this is the same thing Serge did when Peter worked there 30 years ago).

Almost 3 years on, Peter has not sent anything to me except stories and excuses. My requests for a refund have gone unanswered. This is the first time I am going public about this because as JTClicker wrote, it is important for Peter to tie up all loose ends from the past before continuing on with Plan B's future.

On a positive note, I wrote to Jennifer and she responded the same day telling me that she would try and straighten things out. I am hoping this is true but thought it would be a good insurance policy to share my situation with the community.

I think that the first priority for Plan B should be to refund money to all overdue customer orders including Norman Fay and others who have posted here. If the community rallies around this idea, I don't think Peter will be able to ignore the issue any longer.

Oh what the fuck.

I've been holding off on this post since page 1 of "is plan b dead?", but this thread is rather well behaved so I'll join the fray.

I'm posting this information for posterity and as a warning to anyone considering buying products from Peter Grenader or working for him. I do not expect this post to rectify my situation, and whatever allegiance I had to Mr. Grenader has been replaced by anger. However, in keeping with the purpose of this thread I encourage Peter to make good on our stinking old "group buy" from 2006.

I interned at Plan B during my '05/'06 school year at CalArts. I worked alongside my friend S.P. (he can reveal himself if he wants) building the first runs of Model 15s and Model 12s. Exhibit A: http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/7262/model15day.jpg (me in the middle, and yes that's the former other half of EAR on the left building Model 15s).

During the aforementioned summer of 2006 S.P., fridgebuzzz, and I paid comparable amounts (mine was $613) for parts to build our own modules. We were also supposed to be given some kind of photo diagram to indicate part placement, as there was no master list mapping part number --> part value (and you wonder about QC issues?).

Like fridgebuzzz, neither I nor S.P. received our parts after patiently waiting nearly three years for them, accepting countless excuses and hollow promises. Our arrangement changed at some point such that he would simply add my modules to his assembly queue and charge me the cost of labor. This was preferable to me at the time, but it never materialized. However, he did sell me a Model 15 at a reduced price, so I can subtract the cost of those parts ($75). Of course, that particular Model 15 has a busted morph output in square mode! I would not be surprised if this was one of the repairs that has mysteriously fallen through the cracks--but that is only conjecture.

I don't have documentation of every verbal exchange, but here's a good example of the kind of crap I let happen: At one point I offered to incentivize the effort by paying dealer cost, or even higher, completely on his terms, as long as I got my stuff promptly (I was dumb enough to plan several gigs as if I would have those modules). He took offense to the term "incentivize", said we'd stick to the cost-of-labor price, and told me to wait two weeks or whatever. (Need I say it?) ...Nothing.

On March 22 I sent Peter my first "enough is enough" email in which I said that I value our friendship but the time has come for me to get my modules or a refund, and I will not let it slide any longer. I anticipated friendly nagging whenever he called to complain about Jennifer's dog or whatever, but despite the fact that we are supposedly "friends" I have heard nothing from him since. To be sure he received it, I re-sent it to his other email addresses and to Jennifer on April 10.

So that's that. If anyone's still keeping a list add Adam Somers for $538.

OMG - the guy fucks EVERYONE over (and over).

Do CalArts supply him with his slaves? Why? Is he still teaching or taking a class there?

Just for the record, no news or contact re my repairs.

Hello Roger. Thanks for doing this. A couple things though...

I would imagine the number of people here with outstanding orders at this point is very small as a lot of us filed paypal/credit card disputes long ago. I would also encourage you to post this on Peter's Yahoo group. The reason being is that before I was banned from his yahoo group there had been people asking when their orders would ship. A few of those people contacted me off-list by email to ask if I had received my M32 and to tell me they would be filing Paypal disputes. Peter moderates posts on his Yahoo group so I feel it's safe to assume there are more outstanding orders than you may think and he may want to admit. Though at this point it's likely most people have probably filed claims there as well.

Of course this is all conjecture on my part.

Peter is a major ADAM HENRY!

Big City Music looks like you have a full time job helping us. And again I wish you all the very best but you would have to me mad to deal with Peter Grenader ever again..its only a matter of time before you will be swindled.

I think you will find that there isnt just a handful of people who have been swindled by Peter.

His name is mud

Just in case you don't read the other thread...people waiting on repairs don't hold your breath:

PleaseOhPlease wrote:
There are a number of modules in the shop for repair. Most of those modules have been sitting there since i arrived in February. Rather then making an attempt at fixing them peter instead pulls parts from them, or instructs us to pull parts, which we then use to make *new* modules. I've already talked with a fellow synth manufacturer about this and he recommended informing people about this pronto since it is clearly wrong. I decided to wait until i was officially out, and for that i apologize.

Try Vicious Dogs in North Hollywood : http://www.viciousdogsnoho.com/

Luckily this town has Vienna beef hotdogs. Vicious Dogs has proper hotdogs -and- italian beef. Dipped, even. With giardiniera peppers. Now I am salivating.

I bake my own pizza. Can't help there!
