No one expects the Spanish Inquisition, or this from Arturia of all people. eek!

Small portable MIDI synth with CV/gate out? V interesting. Nice to see they haven't gone with 'a classic Moog ladder filter'(finally!). Looks like there's some wavefolding going on with the triangle wave too.

I like the panel layout - wish it was more colorful lol

Sounds quite good, has a nice feature set, all the I/O you could need, has velocity/aftertouch keyboard, metal chassis... not bad for that price!

I should mention that all the analog design was made by one of the french SDIY specialist Yves Usson. Many in the SDIY community know him !

Here is his website : http://yusynth.net/

This for me has been a big surprise! First when I saw the pictures I thought that the design was horrible (still do think it's horrible) and I thought that it was some new kind of plugin and/or VA based when I saw that first teaser.

But after seeing the introduction video I'm well amazed and impressed tbh. Really well played Arturia!

Is it just me or anyone else that thinks that the effect on the triangle sounds a bit like a wavefolder? Cool stuff either way, can't wait till I hear more demos!

I don't know but the envelopes have a "slow" and "fast" switch so hopefully they're quite snappy!

$499euro? Woah! That should put it in the $500-$650 range Stateside, right? I'll scoop one up for that. Probably wont see it until summer though.

You kids and your snappy envelopes. In my day they were slow as an old man in bed with a $2 hooker and we liked it.

Looking at the demo video, i'm pretty sure it IS a wavefolder (add harmonics to a pure waveform... triangle though). Also, Yves designed a WaveFolder module for his modular synth project. So... Another good point, it can be modulate by a Env/LFO !!

Also, it's a really nice choice to implement the saw animator circuit and the steiner filter ! You rocks Yves, really ! thumbs up

Heh, yeah, didn't see this coming... but, we shouldn't be too surprised given the direction Arturia has taken. It's ironic how a softsynth company has come full-circle. So, I guess a poly version will be next, no doubt... interesting time for analogue monosynths! The Minitaur should retail for about the same amount.... Given the specs, this is could be a real winner.

Now, I wonder how Korg will react to this... they're getting closer to a full synth... maybe the (anticipated) success of this will push them over?
