The KV-100 & The D-1000 have finally landed after a very long time of waiting for the funds. My other gear hates me due to abandonment and now I am running different thing thru both and learning to trigger from other machines. It was either starting a small modular rig or getting these two and I apparently made the correct decision.
Now,when I bought the KV-100 I was told I would have to adjust it or use a preamp on a mixer or feed it back into itself??? I am using groove boxes, drum machines, synths etc but not anything else modular yet besides some other filters and shit. Could anyone steer me towards options? I am not running guitars thru it or any of that so I am not very familiar with what I should do to adjust it? Thanks for all of your help, just eager to learn more
To the maker(s) of these yellow beasts, thank you for your sharing your crafty creations, I haven't had more than 4 hours of sleep in the past 3 days due to the generous portions of holes to stick things in _________________ WTB: Richter Noisering

Life is about to get darker and a lot more fun for you
I think what they (whoever told you that "tip") was trying to say was that the KV-100 is an excellent effect - send unit. basically you need to attenuate the input if you want to get the most out of it. An easy way to do that without a modular is to basically run it in an effect send type of deal with your mixer, that way you control how much of the signal goes into the input and therefore you can explore a plethora of "sweet spots"... and you can feedback the KV-100 output into itself controlling the amount through the mixer... try it, it's a lot of fun... you can also do this with any of the other inputs, my favorite is running audio through the filter input, and feeding it back into itself... if you get it just right you can get globby gooey sloppy percussive sounds out of it or even creaaamy noise drones if you crank the resonance close to the earbleed point... nice whistling drones too!! lot's of sounds in this machine, experiment and enjoy!! _________________ www.soundcloud.com/lakbra |

Fun in the dark sounds purfect
So an attenuator would be a perfect thing to first throw in a happy ending kit when starting with eurocrack. For now I will experiment with my mixer and see what I can get out of it. Thanks for your help on this. I found some nice bubbly warm spots, whistles before it screams but that is just the 2 units alone with no "dial down" or attenuating.
I have been using some delay as well and it's getting better by the minute...thanks Lakbra...cheers...indi _________________ WTB: Richter Noisering

make your own attenuator
it's the easiest thing to make - requires no power and doesn't need to be racked. put it in a cardboard box or cookie tin or cassette case or some crap you bought from the thrift store
a child could do it, you can too. you could even do it with alligator clips - no soldering required. http://www.doepfer.de/DIY/a100_diy.htm
is a good place to start. _________________ my goatee isnt stupid

Thanks RealDudes... I will look for these parts and see what I can dig up... Good to know that an attenuator doesn't need a power source also. Good looking out
Good to see another NC head on here too, best...indi _________________ WTB: Richter Noisering

I am in the process of learning how to deal with computers and recording
I pissed away so much magic not getting into recording earlier so, now is the time. Sorry to say but I have plenty of sound but no medium to upload yet...
I also just picked up an attenuator that was from A.H. as well. The intellijel looks perfect but I got a dual from doepher . I am stoked for your rack coming in and all I can say about the kv-100 is Do it!_! You won't be let down. I will holler when I get my skills down to upload some shit...best...indi _________________ WTB: Richter Noisering

Here is a vid or two, not sure if you have seen them. These are not mine but gave me some insight to the many sounds that could come from these two combined....best...indi
