Anybody here build a TWF? I have a pcb and I'm interested to see the part numbers on your BOM. Especially if you saved it at mouser.
Monobass
I just got a board too..

is the one on here not right?

thedug
Yeah.. That's correct.

I was just curious if anybody had actual part numbers with affordable parts.
I've found that when I source parts I sometimes pay to much or buy parts that are wrong and then spend more "rebuying" the same stuff.

How do you plan to mount the pcb?
Monobass
not sure yet, but definitely as shallow as poss.. must be some pictures of other euro builds around
thedug
One option is to make it wide and must mount the board directly parallel to the faceplate
Monobass
I might actually panel it together with something else.
Isaiah
My TWF PCB just arrived too.

Mounting parallel to the panel certainly makes sense.
Unfortunately, the PCB is just a few mm wide for a 14HP panel, which is why the production model is 15HP.

I plan to add attenuators to each of the Bias CV inputs.
This partly justifies bumping up the panel width a few HP to an even number.
Could maybe also add a 3-channel bi-polar mixer behind the same panel, or one of Negativspace's (2.0) Buchlidian Voltage Processor PCBs.
Any suggestions?

Thinking about laying out my panel in a downward cascade, the opposite of the Toppobrillo panel.
Also, putting the Bias 'All' CV and attenuator inputs, and Input 1B attenuator/Offset at the top.
thedug
Cool. Let me know what you decide to do.

Have you started sourcing parts yet? I put a list together and the parts came to $100. There must be some cheaper parts..

This is a custom build that i ordered from a wiggler here.
thedug
Cool.. Who did you get that from?
PF
Its from Manhattan Analog we're not worthy , wiggler Negativspace we're not worthy , one of the best panels i seen of the TWF, its wider then orginal (18hp) but you have more control knobs.....
Ianh
are these pcbs still available some where?

Here's the pics of my build... I decided to do a parallel-mount on this one just to see if I could. The brackets are all hand-cut from thin aluminum sheet, using heavy-duty kitchen scissors. (Extra high-tech, yo.) I'm not sure I'd recommend it... it looks sexy in pictures but the wiring under the PCB is thick, to say the least, and getting the brackets all made was a pain in my ass. Note the intricate system of washers used as spacers...

Edit: It wouldn't be hard to put holes for standoffs on the panel, I think. I just try to avoid that unless it's completely necessary.

All i can say is.... we're not worthy we're not worthy we're not worthy
They are so good looking....

Thank you. Guinness ftw!

(I think I put ~45 hours into that design before I was happy with it. Easily the most time-consuming panel design I've ever done. Also one of the most expensive - $95 as-shown @ FPE.)
PF
The Panel is worth every cent...... thumbs up

Here's what I ended up getting.

Note:

1) I opted not to get the headers for pots and jacks
2) I already have a bunch of jacks I got from here: http://erthenvar.com/
3) I couldn't find a non smd ferrite bead. Anybody have a part number?

I pmd toppo but I feel like i missed this batch. If any one has an extra they don't think they will use I would love to take it off your hands! thumbs up
Monobass
I'll have a new batch of TWF PCBs in stock at Thonk soon, 281 PCBs too.
