HATED Hello Everything - so it was the last album I bought.

Almost everything before it and esp Ultravisitor really blew my socks off so looking forward to new stuff!

I love Hello Everything, but I hated the album that came after it. I saw him live a few years ago with the live drummer, wasn't digging the newer stuff much, but I'm a massive fan of early Squarepusher, so enjoyed the few old tracks that he dropped in.

Will buy the new album regardless and just see what I think.

I fondly remember overhearing in the toilet at a Squarepusher gig, that if you went down the front and called him a 'cunt', he played it even harder!!

my friend pawnsphinx knows squarepusher, went to school with him (was actually in his brother's year i think). i haven't heard anything by him i've really liked, but then i haven't heard a lot.

i thought he came across as a genuinely nice guy on that children's bbc thingy he did though.

will check out the new release!

funny, that demo just sorta sounds like everything else to me

I always feel he is a clever dude but just doesn't swing, but I feel the same way about venetian snares and tipper

Anyway, yeah, new album looks and sounds like its going to be kickass. I hope he has a few more stops for shows in the States other than the one in March, seems like he puts on one a hell of show.

Feed Me Weird Things is all-time greatness for sure... I'm not sure I took the journey with him as time went on, though. This is one of those artists who is so good at his best that I'll give anything he does a shot.

i've been listening to that clips for days.

SOOOOOO glad he's back to electronic sounding stuff again. haven't been into his last few albums at all... i'm glad he took his space rock prog bass jam diversion.. flushed his pipes or whatever and is now back to the squarepusher i love.. so it seems anyways..

can't wait to hear the album. SlayerBadger!

I know this is an anomaly WRT the Squarepusher musical canon, and will likely cause me to lose any shred of cred that I may have.

But I saw Lost in Translation the same year that I visited to Tokyo for the first time, and "Tommib" *is* Tokyo for me to this day.

Gotta say it. Totally disappointed with the new album. Heard a few tracks on a radio show and just meh. Boring. Nothing like his better stuff. Hopefully the rest of the record is different.

This stuff sounds very "career oriented"

Everything after Go Plastic very hit and miss or just not my thing at all. But I wish him well. He's written some of my fav tracks.

I'm so nuts for the whole Hard Normal Daddy, Feed Me weird Things and Selection 16 era that the newer stuff just doesn't have that sound or vibe. Him getting into the whole dub step wobble sound now is such a bore.

I have to say though, Members Lucent EP has grabbed me lately!

I must say, if "dark steering" is his take on dubstep, it is in fact the best dubstep i have ever heard. The video + the song made me faint eek!

i really dont see the dubstep in it, besides it being in half time at the beginning. hmmm.....

different stroke for different folks though! i think this shit is absolutely astounding and is a great progression in his sound.

there's a bunch of youtubes from his live set in NYC. he played the whole album apparently. a couple tracks have a nod to wobbles but i wouldn't call it dubstep... just trendy

i dont see it as a progression of his sound but i'm old and think he peaked at Go Plastic... Venus17 is killer though and there are a few tracks here and there on his other records that are up to snuff for the level of awesomeness i've come to expect from squarepusher.

i have the impression that he could've written this new album in an afternoon or two even though i know that's not true. it just sounds that way to me. not very interesting.

so far that's the first track (drax2) i've heard on the new album that i like. impressive. classic squarepusher mojo. the other stuff i've heard is still not effecting me in any way.. kinda meh. hopefully there are a few more gems on this record yet.
