Modular euro is the most addictive thing i've ever seen! As far as my experiences go:

what i was going to get for starters:

what i actually ordered:

the 12 blank hp is the new addac vco 701 thumbs up
Dead Banana

and i think I'm one of the lighter cases of eurocrack addiction zombie

let'[/img]s hear your stories!

That is not Eurocrack, this is Muffs. You are now addicted to the forum and the endless sound possibilities suggested by guys who have paid more for patchcables then you for your first order.

Eurocrack addiction starts when you combine wiggling with the forum. It ends when you branch out into the subforums and wait for interesting posts in "Production Techniques".

Live long and prosper.

i've had three different euro setups in the past four years. started when the options were almost exclusively doepfer, plan b, and livewire. probably bought and sold at least 21u of modules when it is all said. currently i'm trying to fill 6u.

21U?! :deadbanana:

not all at once, but my first system ended at 9u, bought, sold, and traded loads of modules including out of print plan b and hard to get livewire stock, and some harvestman and a make noise qmmg. probably b/s/t'd 15u within that system. then a year and a half later i put together a 3u boat, which i traded many things in and out. sold a few months later.

now i have just over 3u, and have traded things around there as well. become friends with the b/s/t forum if you don't want to be a dead banana

I once said all I needed were a couple of supplementary euro modules for my 5u. I am the guy who went for a vacation and almost never came back. wink

and just for the record, they need to rename the Tip Top "Happy Ending" to "The Never Ending Story".

I won't expand beyond my 18U. No way. I like minimalistic shit. Might trade some though.

I started with a 6U rack and it expanded exponentially. something about an instrument that you cant play "wrong" and that is infinitely expandable is really unique.

Plus the best thing about having friends with Euro systems too is you can patch them all together when you have a jam and its a very communal thing. theres no bravado like among guitar players etc, people are just all exploring sounds in their own time and doing their own thing. Very cool but also very addictive.

I still maintain though that there are much worse vices to have.....

well, put it this way. i had a DEFINITE budget ceiling of £2500 to cover modules, sequencing and midi-cv. that didn't work out so well. now i've spent over £6000 in under a year

it went from this:

to this:

pretty damn quickly......in fact there's now even more than when i took THOSE photos. i've spilled out into collecting guitar pedals too now for god's sake........
