One of my favourite things in the modular world is discovering ways of using modules for things they weren't originally designed to do... so I'm wondering if CVs can be inverted without a dedicated inverter module like the Doepfer A-175?
I'm curious.
Can it be done? _________________ Experiments:

| you can use a polarizer like the doepfer A-133, a ringmod or modDemix. |

| Use the CV to control the amplitude of a fixed negative voltage. |

This was one of the reasons I bought an A-133, along with using it as attenuators, ring mods... Navs
has a great page on this. A very basic thing my current (pathetic little) rig struggles with is producing a fixed voltage, end up feeding something into A-119 to force the gate out on. But I also want to use the 119 as on overdrive... |

| Can you use a patch cable with one end wired backwards? (Tip-to-sleeve, sleeve-to-tip) |

Without a dedicated module, right? Yes, sort of.
Got a VC ADSR with an inverted output? Turn A, D & R to zero. Sustain becomes your voltage. Gate the envelope and send your CV to control the sustain level. Tap the inverted output.
But really, just get a bloody inverter _________________ http://navsmodularlab.blogspot.com/

Or a foni mixer... Four tunable invertable offsets.
Cant live wo it. _________________ it can all be summarized here: http://xexify.com

No you can't, as the circuitry still has a common ground (from the power supply). _________________ My Website: kits in Europe
